Re: Israel

Optics for the people at home demanding revenge on Israel for the Damascus bombing. I would imagine Iran does have the means of hitting Israel hard should they want to do so.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Is there any point in Steidten being in Brazil to scout strikers if we don't know who the manager is going to be next season?

Re: George Earthy

Having spent a considerable amount of my life in crisis environments I do people reactions funny to a relatively minor event. Glad the kids ok. But that was clear within two seconds when he raised his head off the ground. Anyone want to declare the stretcher bearers hero’s yet? Pardon? Wasn't his h...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

We're not scoring 3 more than Leverkusen. I'm not trying to be negative. I think I'm being realistic. What I'd like to see from this game, is our side fighting like hell in front of a boisterous, supportive crowd (whatever the score is and for however long the match goes) and us winning the game as ...

Elbow room. Especially on the roads. You can be driving at 1:00 am on a highway here in the countryside and still be bumper to bumper.

Re: Israel

It's all up to Netanyahu now. Iran's attack appears to have been designed to appease those at home calling for retaliation for Israel's embassy attack. Iran essentially told the US and it's allies what it was planning to do and when they were going to do it, and as a result 99% of the drones and mis...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Wasn't it €18 mill to buy Tah last summer?

Thank goodness we passed on that one.

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Sean Whetstone has tweeted about the Fulham fans during the emergency with Earthy: They were singing ‘Is this a library?’ and celebrating as medics worked on the downed player. You could definitely hear them making a racket but I couldn't make out what they were saying. The camera showed West Ham fa...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

It's going to be a difficult summer, especially if we don't already have a plan to replace the manager immediately if indeed he is going to be replaced. We have to replace and or find a player to challenge an incumbent at just about every position. In some cases we need 2 players at a position. And ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

A thought is forming at the back of my mind. Paqueta. I believe his release clause is valid during June only, if I'm wrong file this under the usual drivel I post. What's to stop City not excercising his release clause and instead waiting until July and offering say £60M for a player who is in his ...

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

I don’t think we’ve seen from him the specific attributes we signed him for, at least from a supporter’s perspective. But I don’t think there’s anyone who works as hard as he. Soucek and Alvarez would be the others whose work rate is at his level. I think that we’ll see a lot more from JWP next seas...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The squad size has to be in some part his responsibility as well. The degree to which it his responsibility only he and Sullivan know, but at least a degree of the state of the squad has to be his responsibility. Done forget that when we had our last Europa run he admitted that he declined to use th...

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

I find it hard to accept that this Arsenal side is vying for the title. They never look that good to me. I can’t imagine them competing with the Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea etc sides from the last 20 years. Maybe I’ve lost the plait, but the best in our league just don’t look that good to me anymore.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

For me it’s the squad. Obviously Sullivan is largely responsible for the state of the squad, but the manager has to lay claim to a fair chunk of this as well. In his 4 years, what is it we’ve spent, 400 mill? Where are the players on the bench? When you look at a side like Leverkusen who have spent ...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

His passing has abandoned him. He had time and space to feed his forwards in this game but his passes were flubbing. These were balls that from last fall you’ll see all over West Ham highlight reels
