Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Law is if the ball goes in directly off the arm it's no goal. That's Antonio's goal properly chalked off. If it goes off the players arm and then that player puts it in off a legal body part, then no goal. That's not what happened with Soucek. Ball hit Soucek's arm and bounced off Bowen into the ne...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

And yet we still have lots of people who always know better saying that there is nothing untoward going on in football. It couldn't possibly be open to corruption. No sir. Not like it's happened Spain and Italy recently is it? Not like it happens in every other multi billion industry in the world i...

Great result though after a Thursday game. Villa are better than us and dominated us second half.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Antonio handball was clear because it went in straight off his hand. Looking at the last one, I think Soucek deliberately leans into it.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

It comes off Souceks arm but it's by his side and then off Bowens face so should be given cos Soucek doesn't score with his arm.

Not a single positive substitution today. He's had to make changes for unfit players but Ings deserved a chance again.

Nothing wrong with that. I could tell by the way Antonio celebrated it had come off his arm or he'd fouled someone.

They have to change that rule. How can you have goals disallowed for something that wouldn't be given as a foul the other way.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Can't argue with the lineup. Surprised to see Paqueta, he looked injured to me on Thursday. I still think Villa have too much for us and we'll concede at least 3. Hopefully we can threaten at the other end and score a few ourselves, but think they are better than us all over the park to be honest.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I get why Moyes wants him and he’d 100% be our best defender. But I’d be very concerned about being strung out all summer by Man Utd (and Maguire) trying to flush out better offers and haggling about pay-offs etc. then end up with a late window scatter gun search for ‘value’ at CB from abroad. That...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Ait Nouri looks a player. Could play left wing or left back. Maybe bigger clubs would be in for him, but as a replacement for Cresswell and the left wing position he would be ideal.

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

Credit to everyone last night, including Moyes, they were excellent and made it look very easy. Loved what Bowen said after about playing on the front foot. That's all I want to see more often, obviously don't expect 5-0 every week, but just going after games doesn't half make a difference to how mu...

I've watched it a few times from the angle behind and it looks to hit his right then left. I can't see it hit his head at all.

He goes to head it, misjudges the flight and it hits both his hands instead. It's a stonewaller.

I saw Paqueta crossing it before and it seemed such a waste. Has to be a 10.

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

The difference in performance and application from 1 week to the next is absolutely bewildering. We got away with wins against Brentford and Everton. If they could finish, they'd have both scored at least 3. I genuinely fell asleep during the Freiburg game so can't comment on that, but today looks ...

Really don't fancy this. They are a young energetic team and pass well. I think we'll be leggy after Thursday and struggle a bit.
