Hands of a Murderer - Sherlock Holmes = Edward Woodwood as Holmes, John Hillerman as Watson (better known as Magnum's boss/housemate) Continuing in my quest to watch all things Sherlock Holmes, I saw this film last night. It starts really well- Moriaty is just about to be hanged in public (thanks t...

Heroes of the Space Marines: part of a space marine ommnibus, If you like 40k then this is the book for ...

Re: Sobriety

My sister is here visiting. She likes a gin, so I surprised her with a Koppenburg 0.0 Gin, lemonade and Strawberry drink, as she was driving. She drunk a mouthful and nearly spit it out. I tried it and it had the same effect on me. Disgusting - like sweek sugar water - which it probably is. I'd stee...

Re: Sobriety

7 Days today.

I didn't remotely fancy a drink all week, but tonight about 11 pm I felt like one. I had a cup of tea and some snacks. Wasn't remotely interested then.

Next drinking day will be April 5th when I meet a mate for a gig. Then it's no more drink to MAY 22.

Re: Books you are reading

Just finished reading The Dresden Files - volume 4 - and it's the best of the bunch so far. Werewolves, faries, Unicorns, wars between realms and a possible end of the world scenario - what's not to like - oh yeah and police and guns. Stories of the Space Marines - a book of short stories about vari...

Re: Sobriety

We know it doesn't, but this approach is a superb way forward for anything, not just sobriety. The power of what we tell ourselves is very strong and people need to give it a go in other contexts, e.g. if you're feeling upset, literally word with yourself, express gratitude for good things in life ...

Jaz Coleman - Killing Jokes singer - has a "100%" way of staying on the waggon. As he comments; "I had three vicious fights with Geordie. The last time we did so much damage to each other that we both ended up needing stitches. He was making the tea afterwards and went, ‘Do you think ...

Skyfall - Daniel Craig. Seen it before but enjoyed it although the villain guy, was just not a villain. Like all the other films he has played a villain in, he just looks like a dork, not a real evil b*stard. Beate and Serge Klarsfield - married to the cause These two are my hero's, Their drive, de...

and Cool hand wins week 7! Second win on the spin. Littler seems to go off like a rocket but then tails of somewhat, on a regular basis. How He hit a 20 when he was going for 1 was just unreal. Thioe kid can put 3 darts in the treble 20 bed with ease, but he can't hit the 1 segment. Unbelievable..

Re: Sobriety

I deliberately had a drink last night. The reason? I had slept 6 hours in total Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday I slept none whatsover. I've tried everything - herbal teas, lavender, no TV computers 2 hours before bed time, going to bed the same time, getting sunlight during the day, sleeping tablet...
