Re: Our anthem - alternative endings
. It's a song that relates to somebody whose only claim to fame was simply that in someone's eyes he looked vaguely like someone in a painting. It's a song started by a local schoolmaster and sung by our grandfather's/parents in the chicken run for decades before any of us were even born. That's wh...

Re: Bread Making
Not required with the easy yeast, old chap! TBH, I'm far from expert at it, I just resent buying bread when it's so easy. My daughter, (food development undergraduate) makes sourdough, focaccia, etc, etc, :asleep: The second rise has nowt to do with the easy yeast has it Tenners? Could be wrong but...

Re: Our anthem - alternative endings
The first verse of bubbles is much more positive that the chorus to be fair… “I'm dreaming dreams, I'm scheming schemes, I'm building castles high. They're born anew, their days are few, Just like a sweet butterfly. And as the daylight is dawning, They come again in the morning!” No need to change ...

Re: Our anthem - alternative endings
Said it before but ever since I first started going to football over 50 years ago I've always hated the bloody song. Nothing to do with football and, apart from the similarity of an ex player back in the mists of time to a painting, absolutely squat to do with the history of the club. And as the OP...

If you really think about it, saying that they dont give a damn is a little bit silly. Sure they give a damn that any investment they make delivers a good ROI. That they have often spent unwisely is a different matter. He said they don't give a damn as long as they stay in the Premier League, which...

Twitter's getting him mixed up with Boris who has a wedding coming up every summer. Normally his own.HammerMan2004 wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 9:05 pmTwitter reckons he wants to spend more time with his family and has a wedding coming up this summer?
Either way, best of luck in the future Stuart.

Re: Why is fortune always hiding
So whilst fortune's always hiding from West Ham, it's hiding from an awful lot of other sides too, the vast majority of whom would probably give their right b*llocks to be Europa League semi-finalists and the best side outside of the Big Six. This is a claret and blue nutshell. Even with those top ...

Re: Why is fortune always hiding
For me January transfer window cost us, we knew then we needed a cb and striker, as we all know the squad was to thin. We've had a great season and came close to winning a trophy And also was in the hunt for 4th spot, moyes as admitted that he wants a bigger transfer window in the summer, but for m...

Re: Why is fortune always hiding
Speak for yourself. It was to me, we had a chance to finish above Manure in the league for what would have been the first time in my lifetime that I can remember plus that's now 10 matches against BHA where we have failed to beat them despite taking the lead against them (again!) plus no one likes ...

Re: Stuart Pearce leaves the club
Good luck Mr Pearce in whatever you choose to do next.
Having said that, what was his role exactly and how come everyone on here except me knows he has done a fantastic job?
Great guy doesn't necessarily mean great coach.

No second rise Tenners?
Am tutting to myself.
I use similar to you but go 300g white flour with 200g wholemeal flour.
Makes a lovely loaf.

Re: Batteries
He hasn't said it was faulty has he?
Just said he returned it, maybe it wasn't up to the job and he changed his mind.
Surprised they checked the batteries, they don't normally bother. Wrap them in sellotape and take them to a different branch.

Re: Bread Making
Personally I would never use plain white flour to make any sort of bread, I would use a decent quality bread flour, the higher the protein content the better (check the ingredients on the packet for protein content). Waitrose Essentials white bread flour is cheap and a very good flour for baking all...

Mentally weak? Based on what exactly, this has been a great season, one of our best and people are bleating because we got beaten by Brighton. We beat some really good teams this season and have had some brilliant moments and are back in Europe. For who we are right now in terms of investment this i...

The board continue to undermine the manager through their vulgar mouthpieces. A typical distraction technique designed to take the pressure off them.
Judging by this thread it's working.
