Re: Pochettino leaves Spurs.

The only fan moan I've heard is that his selections might lean toward changing the team regardless of how they're playing to bring in key players who hadn't had a game for a while.

Re: January

I take your point Kent. Perhaps the start wouldn't have been so impressive if the opponents had realized how vulnerable we were to the kind of pressure that the subsequent teams put on us.

Re: January

This is not the usual January.

Our team has imploded.

The Board surely see that unless big signings are made we will go down.

Re: Reid misses another return

Pelle's never played with a back three, has he?

Not part of the grand scheme !

If he was open to it he would have done so by now having 3 decent C/B's already ?

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

The one constant we've had over the years is Mark Noble routinely feeding the attacking players with good passes..and keeping possession if nothing is on. Nearly everything started from him. The forwards have with varying degrees of success continued the attacks. Pelle experimented this season by pl...

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)

Was Noble playing in the Pelle advanced position before his injury, or did he start deeper ?

Wasn't able to see any of the game at all.

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)

Burnley are currently 13/10 for anyone that wants to soften the blow. I am so in despair of West Ham winning or me ever getting a bet right, that I have an eery feeling that the only way for us to win is if I have a large bet on Burnley. Although that would probably be a sure recipe for a draw...

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)

If Pele plays Noble in the advanced position again he will be displaying that classic sympton of insanity..... Repeating an oft repeated action and expecting a different outcome. Get him back alongside Rice and let's acknowledge that even if there is hard work being done by A.M's in getting back,the...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

How nice that we can walk through Westfield now...perhaps they will be brave enough to let us go through there on the homeward leg.

The crowd control can still operate up to the store entrance.

Re: Why are we shot to bits ?

Why do you think that's the case when our main striker averaging 6.7 aerial duel wins a game? Why has he competed in 62 offensive aerial duels in our last five matches if the manager is insisting all passes go to feet? I was referring to build up play..to feet as opposed to the attacking midfielder...

Re: Why are we shot to bits ?

I still think Pelle has insisted that all passes go feet.

His old teams were comfortable in receiving a ball and then comfortably beating their marker, why shouldn't West Ham?

We ain't got that quality of player so why hasn't he installed a less demanding approach?

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

I think the C/B's, probably under instruction, pushed up a lot yesterday, much higher line than usual.

To do that with slow full backs explains why their forwards were clear on goal, so often.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

It did seem a worthwhile switch to play Noble more forward to use his passing skills at the sharp end but it hasn't worked out and should have been reversed 4/5 games back.

Re: Game Management and the Second Half

I believe it is because the opponents move from a balanced combination of attack and defense when they go behind. More emphasis on attack and we are stretched. It looked apparent on Saturday..Blunts pushed us after we'd scored and then, strangely, reverted to the norm after they equallised, a sure si...

Simply....there is no one in the squad who isn't starting who would make a better contribution.

Of course there hasn't been a decent alternative to him since Parker left but let's not beat our gums till we sign one.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Sheffield United: Match thread (26/10)

Okay, lads, I've just worked out the reason for our poor form is...ME. Only games I've seen this far have been Norwich, Man U, Newport, Burnley, Brighton, Villa (3 Wins, 3 Draws 0 Losses). I've missed Palace, Man City, Everton, Oxford and Watford (1 Win, 4 Losses). I've not seen us lose this season...

Re: StatsBomb article

It's the Noble switch that is significant. He HAS been closing down successfully high up the pitch. But that is the only positive. Lanzini cant make meaningful runs from such a deep position. Noble waiting further up the pitch for the sort of pass, that only he can provide, hasn't worked. Swap 'em ba...
