Swansea, that sponsor ... I hope it was a lot of money.

Our home shirt is the nuts. Might even buy one full price.

We just got a shout out and a huge laugh on ESPN because of the Mullins-Mascherano thing. Steve McManaman nearly busted a gut.

Re: Semi Finals: Brazil v Germany

Awwww, what's wrong, Brazil fans? No dodgy penalties? No shady decisions? No FIFA there to bail you out with a match-up against East Timor?

I'm no fan of the Germans, but I'm loving this.

Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles!

Seriously enjoying this. This is what this Brazil side deserves. Not even FIFA can save them now. Ja wohl!

Re: The USA don't really get soccer.....

One thing that is really working against the growth of MLS vs the other leagues is the lack of a viable celebrity figure. Historically in this country, the celebrity player has been the draw to make a sport popular. In the 1920s when baseball was reeling from the Black Sox scandal and everyone thou...

Re: The USA don't really get soccer.....

MLS has terrible TV ratings but mostly good crowds. It's a financially viable league as far as anyone knows. Pretty good take on World Cup TV ratings in the US (which were excellent) here and what they might mean for football in this country.

Absolutely, I was incredibly impressed by him yesterday. He jumped right into the fire and looked completely up for it. Get him now while he's still relatively cheap.

This probably belongs in the thread about unpopular opinions, but I kind of liked the checked kit. I have one of those shirts with Parker 8 on the back and still wear it.

The World Cup has been a really, really big deal here, but the news cycle moves fast. Most fans will be back to baseball (vomit) soon.
