Swansea, that sponsor ... I hope it was a lot of money.
Our home shirt is the nuts. Might even buy one full price.

We just got a shout out and a huge laugh on ESPN because of the Mullins-Mascherano thing. Steve McManaman nearly busted a gut.

Awwww, what's wrong, Brazil fans? No dodgy penalties? No shady decisions? No FIFA there to bail you out with a match-up against East Timor?
I'm no fan of the Germans, but I'm loving this.

Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles!
Seriously enjoying this. This is what this Brazil side deserves. Not even FIFA can save them now. Ja wohl!

Re: The USA don't really get soccer.....
One thing that is really working against the growth of MLS vs the other leagues is the lack of a viable celebrity figure. Historically in this country, the celebrity player has been the draw to make a sport popular. In the 1920s when baseball was reeling from the Black Sox scandal and everyone thou...

Re: The USA don't really get soccer.....
MLS has terrible TV ratings but mostly good crowds. It's a financially viable league as far as anyone knows. It's certainly the most stable soccer league in US history, and there have been more than just the NASL. Pro soccer in this country goes back to the 19th century, and soccer was a pro sport b...

Pretty good take on World Cup TV ratings in the US (which were excellent) here and what they might mean for football in this country.

Absolutely, I was incredibly impressed by him yesterday. He jumped right into the fire and looked completely up for it. Get him now while he's still relatively cheap.NH Hammer wrote:Yedlin too.....we should take a long hard look at this kid as a future RB at West Ham.

This probably belongs in the thread about unpopular opinions, but I kind of liked the checked kit. I have one of those shirts with Parker 8 on the back and still wear it.

Julian Green. He's 19. He could potentially play in the next three to four World Cups for us.

The World Cup has been a really, really big deal here, but the news cycle moves fast. Most fans will be back to baseball (vomit) soon.Romford wrote:Huge bit on ABC last night....was the 2nd piece after the Israeli murders.
I was amazed....the jargon they use doesn't help though.
