Re: West Ham Utd vs Swansea: match thread
Main problem may be if Swansea play their usual slow possession game and we don't get up a head of steam. Up and at them from the off. Sakho plus Carroll.

I know what you mean but I hope not. We were pretty crap that night and didn't really deserve the result...Kludgehammer wrote:If this matches the Everton replay from last year, this will be a cracking night.

Re: Liverpool v West Ham United: FAC4 Match Thread
The good news for us is they just had a tiring extra time and penalties match last night. Shame it was Tuesday rather than Wednesday. Even better that they're in the LC final really, which makes them more likely to field a weakened team Saturday. Not sure tiredness will be a factor and I can't imag...

I really fancy us for this. One of the last games under the lights, 3-1, no problem.

Re: Newcastle United vs West Ham United - Match Thread
I like Tomkins at RB but Bournemouth effectively targetted him yesterday and Jenks has looked a little better lately, may offer more generally. I thought Tonks did well last night. Covered the centre backs as well as holding his own. I accept Jenks is better going forward but last night their goal ...

Adrian
Tomkins Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Kouyate Song Noble
Antonio Zarate
Carroll
Is still a strong side - no harm in being a bit more packed in the midfield. The main problem is whether Andy can push on from what wasn't a bad lone front man performance last week.

Re: West ham United v Leicester City: Match Thread
Jenkinson for Tonks at the RB possition is the must. Tonks (Obiang once fit) for Oxford is a sensible option. Change of the system to 3-5-1-1 is an interesting idea to discuss. imao obviously I'd stick with Oxford over Tonks at DM - I was impressed by how he also got forward a few times - so he's m...

Re: Birkirkara v West Ham Utd: match thread
It was horrible but we got through so we move on. But the one big lesson I hope we learn is that you only hurt yourself if you allow yourself to get wound up. I thought Noble's behaviour last night was terrible. He really should know better. And Tomkins deserved to get sent off for wrestling with th...

Not bothered with Andros. We need more consistent, technically competent players than him.Mega Ron wrote:I'd take Townsend as a decent addition to the squad but the issue is that Spurs will want a large fee and he will feel he deserves huge wages.

Whilst I would be quite happy to send the bar codes down, I do remember in 2003 when we were about to play Birmingham Steve Bruce was less than complimentary to us! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/3015893.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick=&...

I think they are only 85% down. They have a relatively easy run in compared to rivals. If Sunderland lose v barcodes and if Leicester beat us then it's game on again.pdbis wrote:Everyone knows they are 99.9% down they will relax and win 2-0 as a lot of our players are already on the sunbeds.

There were four players who had made runs ahead of Downing when he scored that second goal. That's what we'll need on Saturday.

Great to hear rumours that big clubs are after our players - a great incentive and shows how well we are doing.
And for once 'Arry is right. It ain't gonna happen.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United: Match Thread
It was a great match. We played really well after a sticky start when they looked like stuffing us - Kane hit the post, Rose over the bar etc. In the end we were unlucky but this squad will get better as it's fairly young. If Sam can keep them focused then let's hope we keep going to the end. With e...
