Re: Financial fair play ?

Going to be a bit of a fire sale on Chelsea's homegrown in the summer you'd have to think. Their problem is that the likes of Broja and Chalobah have probably decreased in value over the course of the season - no club in their right mind is going to pay what Chelsea will want for them. Even the like...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I hope I'm wrong, but with our track record of poor forward planning I can well imagine we won't have the managerial situation sorted until deep into the summer, followed by a mad rush to buy and shift out players.

Re: Everton vs West Ham United Match Thread

As a kid I thought the Kendall-era Everton were kind of cool as they offered genuine competition to a then dominant Liverpool. As time has gone on though, I've developed a real dislike of the club thanks to old Toffee-supporting colleagues I've had to work with, plus the dodginess that still surroun...

This is the scenario that concerns me the most. Could well be the case if Tim ups and leaves.

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Having seen the magic elixir quality it had last night, Phillips should probably be given the courtesy of being judged when he's playing in a team with Paqueta present. Even players like Bowen and Kudus have looked lost in the the hot garbage we've been putting out post-Christmas so it's reasonable...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

We needed that.

One takeaway I had from last night - on the basis of last night's performances, I don't think Phillips gets in our starting midfield. Soucek in particular had a really good game.

Re: Stan Bowles R.I.P.

I’m too young to remember him as a player in his prime, but from the retrospective highlights that would regularly crop up on TV when I was a kid he seemed as cool as a player gets. Skilful, cheeky and a showman. While I appreciate his glory days coincided with a lull for the national team, it seems...

Re: Players that almost played for us

you could say the same about john terry & sol campbell I played in a London Cup game against Sol Campbell when he was playing for Senrab - head and shoulders the best player on the pitch - he would have been about 14 at the time. All the talk after the game was that West Ham had missed out on h...

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady

Lots of flak being fired in Stedten's direction over the breakdown of the Osman deal, but not much being said about Unique Sports involvement in how the transfer fell through. Also worth reminding ourselves about those stories that emerged on client media sites just as the deal look to have been don...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

You or I have no idea who f****d up in January. It’s lazy to park it all at Sullivan’s door when we have a Technical Director in place to seemingly oversee the smooth running of recruitment. Tim continues to get a free pass in the abomination of January’s transfer window. Gawd knows what Rob Newman...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We don’t know who is to blame. I really don’t understand how any fan can give Sullivan the benefit of the doubt. We’ve had a succession of managers that have had the rug pulled from under them during transfer windows, be it the lack of promised funding, failure to purchase players the manager reque...

Wouldn’t underestimate the effect of both Fornals Benrahma leaving. Both players were popular in and amongst the group.

Was thinking the same. Moyes didn’t categorically rule him out during the presser - just said he was some way off full fitness. He’ll be one of the subs.

The Ross Barkley revival is one of the stories of the season. Has been really impressive every time I’ve watched Luton.
