Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I think one of the most reductive thing that people claim about Moyes is that he doesn't like attacking. He can be cautious, yes, but he's not managing Man City or Liverpool. He has to do what he can within his means. He's won the highest percentage of games for a West Ham manager ever - despite ta...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
We literally 'outpaced' Brighton and Chelsea for Kudus in the summer. You win some you lose some. Osman we missed out, but why would we pay over the odds for a player who isn't the finished article? With Kudus he was already well established and sought after and we decided to meet his wages demands...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Wouldn't put that in the "Moyes at fault" territory. On Transfermarkt.de based player value. Take it with a pinch of salt. I don't think the graph shows anything of value or shows fault of anyone. It is clear based on the past few years and his past tenures that he would much rather work ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
More enlightening stuff. Squad value at its lowest level during Moyes’ 2nd tenure. Working miracles. This graph is kind of meaningless. All it says is that we are consistently around the average in league value. It doesn't consider we run with one of the smallest squads in the league -- our closest...

Re: ✍ Flynn Downes
Saw this analysis on midfielders and how they cope with pressure/ball retention, was interested to see Flynn Downes in the top 15. Interesting given some discussion in other threads about the lack of this type of midfielder behind Paqueta. There is some league bias for sure, but it's hard to argue a...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Is it just me who actually enjoys the way Moyes plays? I find the backs to the wall defending, then a quick break on the counter with - sometimes - a goal very enjoyable. Much more exciting than the passing around the back line for 75 minutes. There are times where it is electric to watch, but it r...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Because he isn't a dinosaur. He's a top quality coach, as players who have played under him attest readily. Dinosaur is a pejorative from folks who prefer a proactive style vs. a reactive style. Some probably think being largely reactive makes you a dinosaur, though. Some might see his preference f...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
And? I'm not sure what the question is. It's pretty clear there are plenty of people on here (and more so elsewhere, especially with the younger crowd) who will never warm to DM's tactical style. You can enjoy success and a trophy while having an overall yearn to see the game played in a certain wa...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
The playing style criticism didn't really exist before last season. Ironing Board has literally been in this thread arguing against "David Moyes is a Dinosaur" since New Year's Eve 2019. While it is easy to believe he would be doing this even if Moyes-outers didn't exist, many were agains...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
The majority of Moyes-out-ers have harped on his playing style, it might even be the only consistent argument made...so why are people acting like the lack of possession criticism is a new cudgel? Feels more like we have entered into some weird Boomers vs. Millennials territory over the entire exist...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
It is not surprising that we use subs similar to City, as we tend to conserve energy and high intensity running in a similar yet completely opposite manner (tedious possession vs. tedious defending).

Re: January transfer window
Is there a KUMB piece or post someone can direct me to concerning why we can't spend, as I have seen make the rounds on here. I'm not as locked into the forum as I used to be, so I am confused as to how the transfer spend for the year can be less and we are still on the brink of financial violations...
