Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I think I’m leaning towards getting a couple of bodies in rather than players who will go straight into the first team. Phil Jones and Origi. Europa League Champions 2022 :scarfer: They’d go into our first 16 - Jones would walk straight into our starting line up as well. Not “sexy” signings but sen...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

You have to judge Moyes after the window shuts. Seems he is happy enough to keep saving up his transfer kitty over each window until he can get a really top striker but that’s a bit risky as by next summer if we finish 7th we aren’t an attractive enough proposition anyway. I can see it being Phillip...

Re: Legal Advice

Was the chap the little bald South African who films and grasses people on YouTube?

He’s a militant cyclist, could well be him.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Not sure how much money is available, wouldn’t be surprised if they are waiting to move a couple out first. Phillips from Liverpool looks half decent and will only improve. He’s a good age and can certainly head a ball - unlike Diop. For £10 - 15m he’d be a sensible signing and then decide whether t...

Re: Andriy Yarmolenko

He got much more involved in the game against Leeds than he has for bloody ages and actually looked like a good option off the bench. Almost scored as well with a good shot that he struck cleanly. Unless he does leave this window he’s only got another 6 mths in a West Ham shirt so he’s not worth get...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

That Sergio Guirassy that we allegedly bid for last summer hasn’t been starting lately (although got two this weekend) and rumoured to be available and on Burnley’s list. Looks very Antonio like when I’ve watched him. Presumably he’d be affordable and allow a large chunk of the budget where we need...

Re: Times we were really rubbish.

The end of the period under Zola and the following season under Avram - basically the first 18 mths of G&S in charge. Woeful on the pitch, a succession of absolute crap, pound shop signings which were nowhere near the calibre of what we’d been used to / blessed with before. Apart from Carlton, G...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

As for the rest of the team, I can’t believe no one wants Boubacar Kamara after seeing the mess our midfield was today without Soucek. Boubacar Kamara is one of the most highly rated young midfielders in world football. All the top clubs have been sniffing around him. He is running down his contrac...

That's why I say get someone like Idah. We'll unsettle him and get him. £5m cheap as chips then spend big in defence.
No chance.

They got £38m from Villa for Buendía whose hardly pulled up any trees.

£25m from Everton for Godfrey the summer before that.

Idah would be £15m - £20m easily.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Yet we had to bring on Yarmolenko to huff and puff along with a young kid to try and rescue a game. Fair play to Moyes, to his credit he tried to make do with some of the overpriced flops he inherited from Pellegrini. Fornals was given another chance and has kicked on under his stewardship. He trie...

All comes down to squad depth. Says a lot when the best we can bring on are Arthur and Yarmolenko
Exactly.

And I reckon he’s brought on both players pretty early in the 2nd half to make that point to Sullivan that he needs reinforcements and double ASAP.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

We’ve all seen enough of Diop last season and this to see that he’s badly regressed, is garbage and shouldn’t play for us ever again.

Absolute liability, like a deer in the headlights.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Idah. I tell ya  He’s clearly got something about him and he caught my eye when he broke into their side during their last relegation season in 2019/20. That goal today was only his FIRST in the top flight though so unless he’s gonna really kick on I can’t see him being the quality we need. W...

Can easily see Rafa ending up back at Newcastle.

Eddie Howe hardly seems an improvement on Steve Bruce, he must be at risk of getting the elbow too.

Ajorque's YouTube highlights really aren't very good  But, he is from Reunion... If he has anywhere close to the impact of our last Reunionite... My wife is from Mauritius and they don’t get on with their island neighbours at Reunion. For that reason she’s not a fan of Payet, whom you clearly ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Norwich City: rescheduled match thread

I do think we'll win tonight but don't think it will be the drubbing some people are forecasting. A comfortable 2-0 will be fine. Mind you, if we do score early then that could all change. Agree completely, they look better since Smith took over and are battling more although still short of quality...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Personally I can’t say I’m fussed either way. Lanzini back to his best, Benny improved, Vlasic starting to get going, Fornals and Bowen purring. He will improve any team he joins, but I don’t think he will have the impact that he did when he last joined us. I still think the best thing about him jo...

Sorry, not just Manny. Didn’t we also have a chief executive who basically had to resign after that whole affair - can’t remember if it was Paul Aldridge or Graham Mackerell who had to carry the can for not checking the admin? Honestly think we would’ve won the League Cup that season, still annoys m...
