Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

in general our set pieces and crossing has been abysmal..... shame. we gave it a bloody good go. did all was asked of them.... referee has been a complete joke...... Agree completely, ref has been pathetic. We gave it a bloody good go. 2nd goal at the end of the 1st leg gave us too much work to do.

Where is the ref from?

Looks Maltese or Cypriot but he’s way out of his depth tonight.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

No real easy teams left at this stage, but with Liverpool very likely now out it’d be a shame to exit at the quarterfinals. Saying that, even if we do go out tonight hopefully we can at least take a credible draw from the home leg. Those suspensions and a half fit Bowen will make it bloody hard thou...

January.

Up and coming striker, international caps and European experience for Panathinaikos.

Probably circa £20m - seems plausible.

This team needs breaking up in the summer, whoever is in charge next season.

And get one of the kids on for the last 15 mins, at least try and gain one positive from this match.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

At this stage of the competition, those fine margins are what dictates games. If Kudus scores, we have them right where we want, and if they score both goals look forward to next week still in the game. We’re right up against it. But we cannot be wasting chances like the one Kudus was given. Didn’t...

In terms of on current form, yes. Form garnered however by a German league which is not the strongest in Europe and easy ties in Europe.

In terms of either on paper or in real life - no chance.

But are they better than us - yes, quite clearly.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Tosin on a free and Teden Mengi to supplement Zouma and Mavropanos. Sell Aguerd, use the fee to pay for Mengi. Good business :newthumb: I’d also go for Barkley at Luton who I think is only on a one year contract. Another full back and a younger, physical striker. No idea who that striker would be t...

We used to be 2-3 years back.

Dawson and Soucek headed goals seemingly every other week.

But this season we are clearly crap at defending corners.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

That early miss from Kudus was bad - looked a relatively simple chance. Antonio does his usual huff and puff and looked good but his final pass or shot was poor which sadly sums up a lot of his time in a hammers shirt. We looked solid enough and good value for a great away draw but again, we can’t d...
