Re: 30 times in 49 years: that joke isn't funny anymore

I see in France they're binning off the Coupe de la Ligue from next season in order to reduce the season schedule. I honestly think that's a great idea and the League Cup should be scrapped, not just because we almost always fall at the first or second hurdle in it - no team seems to really take it...

Re: 30 times in 49 years: that joke isn't funny anymore

You can see the argument, "do well in the cups or stay in the premier league?".
So mid-table obscurity and no silverware it is then (as well as regular humiliating defeats)

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

i think we could have picked our under 16's. The problem is , though they can't/won't say it, as a club we are not interested in cups, only the premier league. But it's not just us.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

Lets face it we've been watching this season after season. Our club isn't interested in cups, all we want is the money of the premier league, so as a business, midtable obscurity is the aim. Knocking us out in a cup is no longer a shock, neither is it to many other premier league clubs who don't see...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

Funny i thought the atmosphere was ok yesterday. Mark Noble's work-rate yesterday was phenomenal and a lot of the time he ended up almost a striker. He was all over the pitch and still played 90 mins. Diop seems to be working almost as ogbonna's sweeper. proof is in the pudding we haven't conceded l...

Yes definitely a case of trying some new faces but it wont be easy. Bournemouth is going to be tough the next weekend too.
Just can't afford any more injuries.

Re: Would you sell Declan Rice for £90m?

The sad thing is, once Noble goes, we have little to cling on to regarding players we identify with. You could say that's just modern football but he's kind of the last thing to represent being at Upton Park and being local and dedicated to the club. I know he was brought up at Chelsea but Declan st...

Re: The Mental Health Thread - (Help Contacts in First Post).

As much as I'm fully in approval of this thread (I suggested on the kumb board years ago that the clubs should do more, as well as about other men's issues, being as they have a mass and majority male audience) and went through cognitive behavioural therapy only last year as I went through depressio...

Re: Antonio could be sidelined for "three to four months"

we don't have anyone of the same physicality or dare i say it, imagination or power to run at players, apart from maybe Haller. Lots of small tippy tappy players like fornals or ajeti and lanzini instead. We'll miss him greatly.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

The thing that worries me is that all the other teams can see we have a glaring hole in defensive midfield. That to me is down to the manager.

Re: VAR

VAR didn't seem to stop the amount of fouls city were committing off the ball or the ref giving them any yellow cards. In other words it doesn't seem to have stopped or changed anything, the big clubs will always get the rub of the green, with or without it. Much like rice's encroachment, they will w...

Why was sterling trying to mock us doing the crossed hammers?
What's his beef with us? As far as i know nobody had a problem with him.
Or is he just getting a bit full of himself?

jack wilshere has apparantly looked amazing all preseason though hasnt he? fact is, we wont get dominated by other teams in the same way we did on saturday, so lets not over analyse it....10 games in if we are seeing the same, lets judge it then Maybe as a creative midfielder but we've got plenty o...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester City: Massacre Thread (10/8)

Ok i agree that city were always going to beat us just as they can beat anyone else, and you can't really judge much by playing city because they are in a different league financially, but why is it we can all see that we are lacking in certain areas, and i will say again in defensive midfield , but...

Re: WHU one of four to make living wage pledge to staff -bbc

Premier League clubs should play their employees a living wage but a lot of the employees will employees of the contracted out companies so not the clubs fault really. Actually it does make you wonder how many staff, with regard to running the stadium on match days, west ham themselves do actually ...
