Tuesday Fixtures: Nathan Trott Nathan played as Wimbledon's winning run ended with a 1-0 loss at Burton. MATCH REPORT: "The Dons started slowly at the Pirelli Stadium with Burton dominating and it needed Nathan Trott to stay alert early on. The on-loan West Ham keeper did well to hold a searching cr...

Goal given in Liverpool game. But why did var even look at it. We had a similar situation earlier in season and was told earlier incidents aren't looked at
All goals are checked. All of them.

Bubbs, the social media leaks have already started mate. Loan CB and loan striker at best. Minimal spend = loan players.
Are these the same social media leaks that underestimated our summer net spend by 40%?

Weekend’s Fixtures: Sead Haksabanovic Sead played 45 minutes as Norrköping laboured to a 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Kalmar. He was withdrawn at half-time with the game still goalless. With just 2 games remaining, Norrköping will almost certainly finish 5th. Next Match: Sun 27th October vs Ha...

Re: Andriy Yarmolenko

when we do have Antonio available and when Diangana is back next season, our right hand side is arguably our one position in the team that has the strongest quality  Three very different skillsets across those three players, too. Should give us some excellent options to alter our game plan to...

Is it definitely a home fan? I can’t understand how a home fan could get wound up watching us destroy Norwich.

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

there are probably very few footballers who have a rational thought process of "i am in the box now, i am going to go and dive". the pace of football is too quick for that. if a footballer spent five seconds thinking that the chance would be gone anyway I’m convinced Dele Alli does this. I’ve seen ...

Re: Season ticket misuse – need some advice

Tell you what a good comparison would be is the matchday and sponsorship income for THIS season ( which we won't know until Drecember 2020), compared with Spurs 1st season in their new gaff. Both 60,000 seat stadiums......the whole point of the move was to keep up with the Jones' wasn't it. Be fair...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

CNR seems to talk past me at the moment. I think he probably foe'd me after I called him the most boring poster on this website, and possibly on any forum ever. That'll be why there are duplicated questions I suspect.  I was replying to ornchurch, actually. His 2 consecutive questions. ...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

It's not impossible to prove as the evidence is staring us all in the face, he wasn't impeded by the slight contact as he was able to continue standing with the ball under control. It was only until his purposeful delayed dive did he lose the ball when going to ground unaided. It is clear as day wh...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

Similarly you can't prove that the contact did impede him as he didn't even try to carry on running, and instead flailed his other leg back in a manner that nobody would have were it in another setting. It's chicken and egg. But we can prove that a defender tried to tackle him, missed the ball and ...

Re: Reid misses another return

To compare him to Andy Carroll is just insulting. Absolutely. Reid could have forced a move to a big club (Payet/Arnautovic style) rather than sign that contract with us. We rewarded that loyalty with a wage that he deserved at a length that he may well have demanded. That’s what he needed to pass ...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

So what about in this instance where there was contact and he dived? It is impossible to prove that the contact didn’t impede him in some way. You can’t prove that the pain caused by the defender kicking or treading on him didn’t cause alarm or shock sufficient enough to cause him to fall. He proba...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

This going down to get a penalty has come about due to the ex pros on tv and radio justifying the cheating of their peers by saying it is ok to go down in the box if they feel a touch rather than calling it how it is, using a touch to dive and get a penalty. This has now gone mainstream after const...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

If I was in the VAR seat on the day, I'd have agreed with the referee and backed the penalty - or overturned a call of no penalty. For me it was clearly a penalty, a decision any other way is a clear and obvious error. If it had been fj sat there watching it, he'd have said no penalty and reversed ...

Until they start issuing red cards for simulation, and rewarding players who try to stay on their feet, then we will indeed be heading towards a non-contact game.
I’d love VAR to be used for that.
