Re: ✍️ Welcome Mohammed Kudus

How ****ing good is this guy, me and the boy absolutely love watching him. The way he brings the ball under control, holds defenders off and drives at them and is always looking to be positive in possession. Not to mention he seems to be a great finisher of both feet. Surely deserves a chant of his ...

Re: Liverpool v West Ham United: match thread

Liverpool pressing us relentlessly in the knowledge a lot of our players aren’t good enough to receive and play in tight spaces.

We need to get Emerson, Paqueta and Ward-Prowse if we are taking this game seriously.

To only be 1 nil down at HT would be a result based on this 45

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

I thought the difference between his workrate and closing down out of possession made a huge difference compared to what we have become accustomed to from Antonio these past 18 months or so. He also did pretty well with his back to goal battling much larger centre half’s, bringing others in to play,...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

Only reservations about Edwards... the articles I've read state that he's quite weak in the air, and that (in the Championship at least) he played in a back 3. Not sure if he's still playing in a back 3 or whether Peterborough have changed their tactics now. Lot's of potential there though for sure...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

I think there's a slight tendency to over rate Kamada on here, based on his first leg performance last season. Given the most pressing areas for improvement in midfield are a discplined DM to replace Rice and a Soucek upgrade, i don't see an obvious position for Kamada in our current midfield 3, nor...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

Wonder if the rumoured sales of Cresswell and Antonio, following Dawson's last January, might become increasingly common given the new FFP rules? In the past clubs might have been happy for a long-standing servant like Cresswell to wind down their career at the club, offering them a series of 1 year...

Re: The new kits thread

Anyone have any idea when the away or third kits are due to be released? Promised my son the kit for his birthday a month ago, having seen the home kit his verdict is he’ll wait to see if the others are any better. And as others have said the price for a full kids kit is nothing short of scandalous....

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Our ball retention, passing and movement is light years behind other premier league clubs. When I watch other teams I can see the patterns of play they work on in training, the little bounce passes, third man runs, the overloads they try to create and spaces they look to exploit. I haven’t seen any ...

Re: ✍ Welcome to West Ham, Said Benrahma

It's possible he polarizes opinion as much as he does because a lot of the things which have been said about him both positive and negative are true. In a season where our attacking play has been largely insipid and we've frequently had 35-40% possession, he has been one of the few players who when ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

While I don’t doubt that there might be an element of forward planning going on with our summer spend so far this summer, and the potential that we’re spending some of the Rice money before we’re crash rich. I have also read on multiple occasions recently how the International TV rights deal is due ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

While I too balk at the idea of paying Lingard a reported £180k a week, based on his abilities and the wage disparity in the dressing room. From a purely accounting point of view he and his representatives will be justifying it as a salary of £100k a week + a £4m year a payment in light of having pa...

Re: Gianluca Scamacca, Italy’s 6ft 5in scissor-kicking striker coming to a club near you

There was a great article about Scamacca in the Athletic a couple of weeks ago which i think argues well for his character and ability to settle in another country (he left Italy to join PSV when 16). It certainly left me intrigued about the possibility of signing him before any links had been made ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Have just seen Bayern Munich have released Corentin Tolisso, or he opted not to renew his contract. He suffered a few injuries which hampered his development and consequently his ability to nail down a regular spot in a team with lots of quality midfield options. But as low cost cover for Rice &...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

For all Moyes pragmatism and caution in the transfer market. Based on his time at Everton and their largely underwhelming European campaigns, surely he'll recognise that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a deep European cup run. After all despite our excellent, current league position...

Re: Pablo Fornals

His work rate and stamina is incredible. Instrumental in leading and co-ordinating the press from our forward players. Moyes clearly recognises this and uses him as either the 10 or AML depending on the opposition and where he considers the threat to be and who we need to close down. Never stops run...

Re: ⚽ Everton vs West Ham Utd: match thread

We really are quite good at football nowadays aren’t we. Goodison has always been a bit of bogey fixture for us. After the international break and the cruel manner in which we lost the last game against Brentford; that was a fantastic and thoroughly professional performance. Good performances all ar...

He’s not had loads to do, but every time he’s been called upon Zouma has looked excellent. Cool, calm and collected. Has anticipated their attacks well and looked physically dominant in any close confrontation.

Hoping he goes straight in to the team alongside Ogbonna now.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread 16/01

Bowen has done so much good for the team since he joined.

But his decision making at crucial moments is so frustrating, often taking that one touch to many or delaying a fraction to long.

If he could sort that out he’d be in double figures for goals easily

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion: Match Thread 27/12

A worrying line-up devoid of pace and attacking inventiveness, further highlighting the lack of depth and or trust Moyes must have in certain individuals. I fear we’re in for a long and ugly 90 minutes but obviously hope to be proven wrong. Moyes has done a lot to win people over with the organisati...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Aston Villa: match thread

Interesting to see how high up we’re pressing them.

Wonder if it’s a deliberate tactic. I haven’t seen us do it to other teams.

Perhaps Moyes thinks we can nick the ball off them up there as they’re not good enough to play it out from the back
