Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

No one fell in love with “the beautiful game” based on its most euphoric moments being interrupted by 8 minutes of a man not playing the game staring at a monitor before almost consistently having that time delay dictate his decision.

It’s rotten. It’s absolutely ****ing appalling.

I saw Payet and Carroll’s - occasion and skill wise, I think it’s up there with those two.

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

I honestly think I might pack it in next season down to VAR. I reckon if you took a poll of punters up & down the country on the thing, it’d be in the high 90s for hatred.

Why is it just accepted as the game ruiner forever now?!? It’s not fit for purpose.

Re: Other games (fwiw) 2/3/4 March

I’d rather Sheffield United stayed up than Arsenal ever win the title again. Loathsome football club with some of the most fickle and entitled support on the planet.

Re: Other games (fwiw) 2/3 March

I think it’s most damaged by the clear fact Man City have just spent to the point of probably owning the league for the next 3-4 years anyway, and there’s absolutely no indication that the premier league or FA are going to genuinely challenge that

Re: Other games (fwiw) 2/3 March

Just goes to show why there was no thread for the weekend games until this morning. There is now a level of apathy, people are just bored with the same clubs getting the same favourable decisions week in and week out. The same clubs’ players get away with cheating. And sports journalists at most of...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Plenty of advocates for this chap earlier in the thread. Looks like we're about to find out what he's got when the chips are down. Most of the lads at my firm (which sits in the shadow of the G-Tech) are convinced they’re going down this season. They think the manager has run out of steam and ideas...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Only we could storm into a two goal lead after 7 minutes, score possibly our best goal of 2024, get to watch Paq and Kudus purr, score four and STILL make large clumps of the game feel uncomfortable and uncertain… Emerson, Bowen and Areola were especially good. Then Moyes decided to make a game of i...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I heard that if Chelsea win the League Cup on Sunday, they will qualify for that competition.Apparently the club have said, they don't want to take part in it,though UEFA said they would ban them from future competitions,if they didn't. This is complete and utter rubbish. A complete fabrication. That...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

David Moyes is a football man. A consummate professional at football management. He was absolutely, unfairly shafted by our tinpot owners on his first spell and still wanted to come back for more. He did this, and led this club to two of its greatest nights, with that trophy in Prague and then the p...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The behind the scenes shambles is what I primarily blame for this and it has been the same pretty much regardless of who is manager. Moyes frustrates me but I'm not laying the appalling last month purely at his door. If you keep having decent tenants bugger off after 2-3 years, you have to start lo...
