Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I still don’t think we really need to do too much to be honest. Tosin would be great if we could get him, if not Harwood-Bellis has been great for Southampton and we might tempt City to replace one of Aguerd or Zouma, with Ronnie Edwards coming in as one for the future. Cedric Soares on a free from ...

Re: Declan Rice
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I'm proud of him. I think he genuinely does his best to be a model pro and a good role model. Which is more than can be said for many footballers out there. I don't think he always makes the best decision, nor does he always do exactly the right thing, but I th...

Re: New Happiest Country List
On the strength of this thread, it's probably accurate that we're not Top 20 anymore.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
If Arsenal want stoney they will get him, otherwise I see him waiting out his contract and getting a very good wage. The players of that ilk that we could signe either see us a shop window (Paqueta/Kudus) or buy into the project. Toney is already in the shop window and I simply don’t see him looking...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
18 year olds playing in the PL are like 20 goal a season strikers - only truly exceptional individuals do it, especially on anything resembling a regular basis. It is mostly the players in the academy who are aged 20-23 who are at the now or never stage. It's a good point, Bubbles, but there is als...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
If Scarles does make it, I think it will probably be more as a midfielder/winger than as a full-bak tbh. The full-back positions will be interesting this summer. Again, I can see there being a bit of a boardroom battle. I would imagine that Moyes philosophy and approach would be to go for more of a ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If we had owners who were prepared to bring in a manager currently at a club, I actually think that Gary O'Neill would be an excellent appointment. Funnily enough, if we did do that in the summer - I would imagine that Moyes would be a favourite for the Wolves job. Having said all that, I think that...

Nah, I was at Glastonbury for most of the late 90's and early 00's and saw some fantastic stuff. Orbital, Blur, White Stripes and Radiohead were all experiences I'll remember forever.

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
Good draw, that. In all honesty, us and Benfica are probably the two weakest sides left in the hat so whoever we got was always going to be a tough tie- but I can also imagine that very few teams fancied facing us. I've watched a little bit of Leverkusen this year, and I think we are better suited t...

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24
I actually thought that Kudus looked a little off the pace in the first half yesterday, I think that the sun set at some point in the first half, so clearly the Boots meal deal that he snaffled at half-time really did the trick! Honestly, though, I would love to see a season of those three behind a ...

Re: Sex Tourism
I had to let a former employee go as a result of this. Not as a direct result of how he chose to spend his time in Vietnam (although ****ing vile) but we had a contract doing work in a private school, and this ex-employee was overheard by a teacher, on school property, bragging on the phone to his ...

Re: Sex Tourism
I used to travel quite regularly to Bangkok for work, and I'll never forget sitting opposite a 22 stone 50 year old from Kent sitting behind my desk sweating, and he looked at me and said - 'The thing is, there just aren't enough 'marriageable' men in this country for the women here. We're doing the...

Re: The Mental Health Thread - (Help Contacts in First Post).
Now societal and economic problems just seem intractable. Left, right, Conservatives, Labour...none have the answer. I'll be honest, I find taking pride in my country difficult now. I have been very hesitant about expressing this view. I thought it was indicative of a life cycle effect where I was ...

Re: The Mental Health Thread - (Help Contacts in First Post).
Thank you all for your advice/kind words - there are going to be tough times ahead and we’ll need to support each other through it. It is great that the family, by and large, all talk about grief and memories as hopefully not too much stuff will be bottled up. (A bit like this thread on KUMB really...

Exactly. Hitler made me hate all Austrians. Racism is absolutely fine as long as at least one other person from that race or nationality is racist.

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-
The Tories have played a blinder by reminding everyone that Diane Abbot is a Labour MP and giving her a platform.
If they can find a way to get Corbyn to start making statements again they might begin to claw back some popularity.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
It's a great point Ace, and the question I think many of us are asking is how do we try and sustain that. Interestingly enough, most of the managers mentioned were headhunted by 'bigger clubs' (Two of them by Spurs). Some of the drubbings we have had this year worry me, as do our performances when w...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
relaxed, lethargic, outplayed for half a game, half chances.... I would say that at its best, a David Moyes side is busy, physical, proactive and determined. I thought we the opposite of those things on Sunday - 'too relaxed and lethargic' is what we looked like to me, but hey - it's all about opin...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I'm not disputing that we were poor in many respects - I agree in that regard, we had some players who were atrocious in possession and I don't believe the set up was right. It's the descriptions of attitude and intent that I question. In almost all football matches, both teams will have spells whe...
