Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Yes. It made no sense to sell all our best subs and bring in no one whilst 7th and in EL QFs. Moyes is leaving and Kretinsky, Steidten, Sullivan have bigger more fashionable managers in mind with the lure of huge pay check and a war chest. That is my view anyway. Moyes got hung out to dry. Why not ...

Olive oil. If Marie Antoinette was alive today.

Who's buying it 2L at a time? How much artisan sourdough are they going through?

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Good point, though I’m not sure that Moyes gets the same kind of love (looking for a better word) from west ham supporterrs, as Klopp will get from Liverpool supporters? He should. It's the sort of thing we used to be known for. Been along time since we have had a manager that deserves such a rousi...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Surely we are currently at the point that any SD/DOF plus a coach system would aspire to, top 10 and Europe? What then is the point of change? Go backwards to go forwards I suspect. Steidten (based on Leverkusen) is about a different system. Young, cheap, undervalued players sometimes discarded by ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

That is likely to happen and for bringing us our first trophy for 43 years he is a club legend in that respect. Not sure of the send off he will get though if we play like we did yesterday, in the last few league games. What sort of send off will klopp get if they go out on Thursday and yesterday c...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

And I think he is spot on there. Manager's live and die on their recruitment. He probably deserves one more transfer window. But I'm not sure he's going to get one tbh. What's the point it Steidten is picking players now? We need a plan tbh, everyone on the same page. We have had Husillos, sully/sa...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I can’t see it happening but an interim manager coming in for the last half a dozen of games, such as a club legend could galvanize the team for a final push. The feeling of deflation if we do go out on Thursday night will be huge, and adding into that the manager almost certain to be leaving (I re...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Moyes and interruption from above: I don’t agree it’s nonsense. He has seemed routinely happy and supportive. Quit might be a bit much, but he’s not particularly stuck here. No offers? But he certainly seems to accept it. Never makes any noise in the media. Just on this bit. The Peterborough owner ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Who ever comes in has one hell of a rebuild job on their hands. You can here it now If the new guy doesn't hit the ground running there will be a lot of "told you so's" flying about. No wonder when you lose half the playing squad. Good post and spot on. On this bit I have seen arguments o...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I'm not making a judgement on DM here, because clearly Sullivan bears the ultimate responsibility, but I'm becoming tired of the 'Look, were much better placed now than we've ever been, what d'you expect/entitlement/Spursy ' argument that gets thrown around. The PL is a different place to what it w...

Tbh all we really have is the soap opera. We aren't a competitive club so off field drama keeps us going.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Better in the last 2 seasons. A progressive manager is one who tries to.play on the front foot. The 2 games I enjoyed most this season on the eye, were Arsenal in the League Cup and Brentford in the League. . Of coarse there is a time to be pragmatic, but not when you play like that against a Sheffie...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Watching the way Tosin played yesterday, whoever at the club decided to go for Dinos, let alone attempted to spunk £30m on Harry Maguire, over going for Tosin….. :thumbdn: Words fail me. As for the recruitment team who didn’t go for Palhinha before he joined Fulham, rather than wait a year later to...

Hand picked? It's the last 2 years my friend.By the way,I thought his first two were excellent, playing proper counter attacking football(I'm not sure what you can call this type of foil played now,but it's poor on the eye). One thing I will say is that Moyes has put this club on a higher pedestal,b...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Should go the distance in cup competitions and get to the business end more regularly. Regular top 6 contenders or in the vicinity of every season. Play entertaining football. We’re not in good company with our low block moyesball. That would be a good start. A manager that has us around the top 6 ...
