Re: Local Elections, 2nd May 2024

Had the labour leaflet through the post. It's very odd as it's entirely about Liz Truss.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Ok Aston Villa they may be above us now but have not been in for most of Moyes reign If Emery went elsewhere would the fans be calling for the club to be trying for Moyes Not in the position they are now in but then if we had a vacancy we probably wouldn't look at him either. I guess that's the nat...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Over the last month's there has been quite a lot on here along the lines of 'this is the only pro Moyes site', 'tge majority of fans want him gone', 'everyone in my stand wants him out'.

If that's true it must in some form have dripped through to the club and Moyes must have faced some negativity.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

West Ham for me has become a bit of a chore and that saddens me.I would like for it to be more fun and if that involves less success then so be it. History has kind of shown the only way it works out is if it doesn't involve less success. The arguments against Moyes are getting almost word for word...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

FFP was <105M at the end of a revolving 3yr cycle wasn't it? Not really read up on these new rules coming in but I guess you're right, if we went big this summer then presumably it would be '25/'26 for any punishment. Not the most financially sound idea but we're in a hole, our can kicking has just...

If/when Salah goes I'd be staggering if Liverpool didn't at least ask the question.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Is it worth taking a gamble for one season? Go big in the market with a £200M net spend and take the opportunity to revolutionise the squad. Take the 6/10 pt penalty deduction, aim for a mid table finish then kick on with what should be a much healthier squad. It seems to me that a few clubs are go...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

Here's a conundrum for you all. Do we want the investigation concluded so we can sell him and bank the money or hope it drags on to next season, meaning City back off but we run the risk of him being suspended for a long while? Get him cleared and get him sold, he has checked out now. The money is ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I'm not here defending anyone, if the direction the overview guy takes is wrong for the club/fans then sack them. My belief is, if you build long term, at least trying to follow a similar philosophy, you are more likely to be successful unless you find a gem of a manager that can revolutionize what...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Which is why you identify what you want the long term goal of what you want your clubs identity to be, then work to fulfill that. Chopping and making wholesale changes on styles of play every few years is just not good. I'd imagine Leverkusen after Alonso, will look for someone who employs a simila...

Don't managers get the sack because their philosophy didn't work? Why would you keep that philosophy.

Does Alonso's team play the same way as Soanes did?

Steidten, he would bring in the players, and find a coach who can bring the best out of them. If that coach left, he'd find another that utilised the players in the same way. I get the idea but thats some job he's got. All the power and none of the responsibility. The in/out threads on here could s...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Agreed, when the players go into a defensive shell in games, especially when we're winning, Moyes is urging them forwards, not backwards..! Lack of strong leadership on the pitch is what kills us in these situations. I think it's a huge thing. Ironically I would have coufal in the group of potentia...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Is this the one hammerman2004? To be honest, for me personally it is more important to make some assists than keep a clean sheet. I shouldn't say that because I'm defender, but I was always an attack-minded player. I like attacking, I prefer to win 4-3 than 1-0, so I like to make assists and I'm rea...

It's almost like we're on here to talk about football.
That would imply it had gone a bit wrong at least before then.

Then put the full quote so we are talking about the whole picture.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Phillips for Antonio, and Johnson for JWP, really screams "keep playing how you are and don't drop deeper and let them build in our third". Well one of those was in the 84th minute but ok. Presumably they were all ignoring him up to the point of leading 3-1 and then decided to revert to d...
