Had the day off today so popped to the allotment. Prepared beds for planting, did a lot of hoeing leaving the weeds on the surface to die off and then the heavens opened. Tomorrow, i'm picking the 6 year old grandson up and he's coming to help me on the plots. We have seedlings (small plants really)...

Weekend looking good. Just bought some pink fir apple and king edward seed potatoes. Managed to get some online as every garden centre in Sussex is sold out. Hope to get a few hours in this weekend.....got seedlings to plant and seeds to sow.

With the grills, I just burn mine off for 10 minutes and then go over it with a wire brush. Anything that survives that heat deserves to kill me
