Both games though unfortunately give a reason for a super league.
Disagree, a super league kills these games. The reason they are so good is partly because of the significance of them, you won’t get many league games like tonight.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I would presume the add-ons have already been reached, a big chunk of it for example was contingent on survival last season. Johnson went down as pure profit so it's slightly different, they'll want more than £8m profit on Gibbs-White, he'll be at least £65m, I like him but he's not worth that. Dep...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Gibbs-White cost Forest £42m when they signed him, we're not going to get him for £50m. Two successful years in the Premiership, young, homegrown, absolutely no chance. Don’t Forest have PSR issues, they let Johnson go for less (although I understand the home grown profit ramifications are greater ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

If Moyes stays I’d quite like us to go for Barkley if Luton get relegated. He’s been quality for them this season playing a slightly deeper role, home grown and probably on a free if Luton go down. I know this suggestion would of got a lot of hate 12 months ago, but he's certainly changed my opinion...

Re: Where will we finish?

Even if we get 8 points, that takes us to 56. Newcastle would probably pip us but Chelsea would need 12 and Brighton 13 from their remaining games, which I still think would be a push for them. I think it will be very close with Chelsea. I’m not too worried about Brighton as their form has been pat...

Re: Where will we finish?

We're on 48 points so we need 4 wins (to get to 60 points), that's also assuming: The more I look at this, the more I think (especially if top 8 gets Europe this year) we have to severely mess up the end of the season to not get Europe again. I think getting 12 points will be a tough ask, we’ve onl...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

The point is that to trigger these release clauses (if it's standard form) the bid has to be £85m cash up front on the table. If it's anything else then it's a negotiation, and in these PSR-days even Man C would struggle to come up with that amount of readies... So it's likely that there will be a ...

Re: Where will we finish?

I think most articles are speculation as UEFA as usual hasn't looked into detailed permutations or stated anything black and white. I'd be really surprised if they allowed 9 English teams in. This is from the below article which was published this week: It is actually possible that seven Premier Le...

Re: Where will we finish?

9 teams would only qualify if we finished 9th. And even them I'm not sure whether they'd take the position away from 8th. There's certainly a maximum number of clubs from one association allowed in European competition. Man City won the Champion's League last year, we didn't get a 5th Champion's Le...

Re: Where will we finish?

Yes. And if we also finish 7th, that European place doesn't go down the league, it goes to one of the lower ranking leagues who usually don't get as many qualifications. Are you sure that is true? In theory 11 premier league teams could qualify for Europe if 3 of our clubs won all three European co...

Re: Where will we finish?

Me neither.. its between us and Man Utd for 6th and I think we'll do it, I really do It will be a very tough ask to finish 6th. Skybet has us at 28/1 to finish 6th, the same as Brighton, with Chelsea and Newcastle at much shorter odds and Man U almost at evens. If we want 6th I expect we’d have to ...

Re: Where will we finish?

If we want to talk about VAR decisions going against us and the points we’ve lost you also have to consider the ones that have gone for us, such as the non-handball penalty which should have been given against us when we played Luton away. No doubt we’ve had some rough luck recently but I’m sure we’...

Time for Ings? He’s proven recently when we play near an opponents 18 yard box he can be effective.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

No mystery. He’s played more than enough games in a claret and blue shirt to show he’s simply not good enough. Not sure if Moyes actually chose him but surely he’s sold in the summer. Really? He’s played less than 1,000 minutes for us and less than 350 in the prem, separated by a bad injury and sti...

As shown by the Creswell sub, Moyes will just not play certain players, or allow them any chance to get some form.

Which is understandable given we can’t manage a squad where the subs retain any sort of form or confidence that would allow us to rotate more.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

Bowen’s put in better corners recently. It starts to make you wonder if someone else can offer us more than Ward-Prowse even if it means losing his ability to take a great corner. Before Bowen stepped up with a couple of assists from corners recently we were on track to score our lowest number of c...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

We’ve been a decent watch recently, but it’s no surprise we aren’t today with that midfield and only 3 attacking players on the pitch.

It’s too negative and the the biggest risk to Moyes not getting his contract renewed.
