Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Ex reporting we aren't close to Caleta-Car because Moyes would prefer to loan him but (quite understandably) Marseille aren't keen on that option. If true then as much as we'd like to, I don't think all the fault of not having signed a player can be laid at Sullivan's door, even though it is easy to...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

It's funny too how everyone wants Broja after half a season of good performances but nobody is keen on Phillips who has proved himself over a similar time period. That’s a bit of a strange comparison tbh. Phillips has looked ok in some games and not great in others (last season) at least. He’s also...

Re: 20-21 vs 21-22: For Better Or Worse?

So far so good but the first quarter of our season was significantly better than the last quarter. Over the last 12 league games we are 11th in form table, having lost half of those, by comparison we only lost 2 in our first 11 league games. We need to perk up in the league or we’ll end up mid table...

Surely Morelos is worth a punt as a lower cost option? Averages more than a goal every two games for Rangers.
Surely you of all people know Moyes cares about a players attitude.

The blokes a liability. We don’t need to sign players like that.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Teams targeting the top 6 don’t stop signing players because they have a youth player who might step up in a couple of years.

If Cheater pushes on and is good enough then he’ll get his chance.

I dunno - he doesn't have much of a track record.
At his current rate he'll have more goal involvements this season than Rooney did in his best season before leaving Everton........what's not to like.

Re: EL Last 16

I disagree. They didn’t fill the stadium for the last legs, if we draw Sherrif, Red Star, Spartak or the likes I cannot see them filling the ground at those outrageous prices. I’m certainly not stumping up money before the draw has been made. I think the club have shot themselves in the foot, once ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Do people really believe we should be spending £25m on Broja? A 20 year old with 5 goals and no assists in 18 league appearances this season? One who averages 10 passes, 0.1 key passes, and 57% pass completion per game? Some of you have standards so low you must have an absolute field day in Wether...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

None of them looked much cop against us but hattrick against Tottenham the previous season shows he's got something about him He looked decent in the home game against us imo, even ignoring the wonder goal. Only thing I can think of is we still owe them money? That's worrying if that's the case Tha...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Well, apart from the fact that a lot of China doesn't have better weather than UK this is a ridiculous comparison. People pay to play football every week and will pay lots of money to watch the best players play better than they themselves can. I don't know many people who do accountancy for fun, o...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

The problem with signing Caleta Car is that the competition he would be more comfortable with,in the short term, is Europa Cup and he is ineligible. Weren't Marseille in the champions league? If so, he can play Europa. Didn’t Abraham go to Roma for £33m? Which is why I can not understand why we Sig...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I won't ever understand why people pay him for what are essentially "strong rumours". I saw his £5 includes a monthly pie review or something, what value for money. I don’t mind admitting I pay the price of less than a beer at the OS for his pateron. The pie review is just a bit of banter...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Tottenham’s over reliance on Kane to play every minute has been one of their biggest downfalls imo. It’s a good comparison tbf, but it certainly doesn’t support mirroring their behaviour, it should act as a warning. Antonio’s form is also night and day from the first quarter to the second quarter of...

How good for his age? He was the best player at Euro 2004! Talk about revisionism. https://youtu.be/5Qry4iTHAT4 A tournament where he had 50% of the goal involvement in 4 games as he did in his whole league campaign for Everton. Clearly you can’t separate the Rooney from Man U to the Rooney for Eve...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Oh come on. Rooney was the most exciting player on the planet at the time: Sir Alex Ferguson said he was delighted to sign a player who he claimed last week would make United's squad as strong as that which won the European Cup in 1999. "I am very excited. I think we have got the best young pl...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

But Rooney was a generational talent. He is in that top rung of British players with the likes of Best, Law and Dalglish. But not at Everton which is the whole point. He had the potential to be a generational talent whilst at Everton which would have made his sale as gutting if not worse than Rice’...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I personally think Rooney / Rice is a fair comparison in terms of perceived importance to the team. Iirc Moyes still did brilliantly without him. That's not a contradiction but a testament to Moyes' skills and ability. It’s nonsense. Rooney scored 9 league goals in his last season at Everton and co...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

80 games in two seasons and he was establishing himself? The Everton fans were absolutely up in arms about it! He was literally the best English player since Paul Gascoigne, and went on to have a better career. How well his career went in future is irrelevant to the conversation, the point is how i...
