He's currently out injured. Sidelined for the next few weeks to a month I think, so wouldn't have done us any good if we had signed him.WestHamIFC wrote: You mean someone like Joleon Lescott? Alas..

Re: The summer 2014 Transfer thread and wish list
Not impressed there is more negative publicity around our club, especially as it seems avoidable. However I can't see it really having that much impact on our club in future dealings. Essentially if we have the money we'll be doing the deals. Maybe only Metz will take the moral high ground and if we...

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist
You are spot on Turns to Stone in my opinion.
BS's brand of football will harm our club up and till he leaves.
DS's damaging and ill-thought out comments will continue to harm us long after BS has gone.
Needs to twist as the manager's and board's relationship seems fractured beyond repair.

Also... This may have been covered elsewhere but I don't get why the current poll is only open for 48 hours. What's the rush and urgency to get a response given the badge will not come into use until 2016? How many fans will miss the vote because of the short window or be unable to vote due to holid...

Re: POLL: The New Club Crest
Don't like London on the crest.
The 3D crest looks very "Arsenal" that said I think it looks a lot better than the 2D versions including all the ones in the different colour schemes. They look far too plain and simple, like they've been mocked up in MS Paint.

I suspect we will reach a mutual termination with Diarra sometime before January, whereby we effectively pay up most of his contract.
We've done similar with other players in the past.

The French seem to go between the sublime and the ridiculous.
Some of the nicest shirts in recent years have been from French teams (PSG, Lyon and now Bordeaux)
But that away one is truly awful.

I'm inclined to agree with Pinky
It is sad to see and credit to them for getting so many youth players through, however they took the "easy" route through Administration. The one that has a very real affect on local businesses and companies.

Re: The summer 2014 Transfer thread and wish list
I hope this is the back-up option sorted early. Couldn't agree more. Zarate, Niang, Carroll, Cole, Jarvis, Downing and Vaz Te gives us plenty of variety in the forward three positions. Wouldn't mind adding someone like Bendtner for Target Man competition. Certainly gives us plenty of variety, not s...

Re: The summer 2014 Transfer thread and wish list
I think given Lescott is 4/5 years older and has struggled for first team football he can't really expect £90kpw.
That said he has no transfer fee (£3m would roughly be £20kpw over 3 years) and if several clubs want him he maybe able to start a bidding war driving his wages up towards that mark.

Re: Summer 2012 Transfer and Rumours Thread
I've yet to see any Twitter rumours of an ex-Bolton player. As for the Richardson, Jones, Elmo one. I reckon there is some truth in it. Just my instinct nothing more. But it would be very West Ham....very budget. Most would view Richardson as an acceptable addition. Jones is a poor mans Carlton Cole...

I don't think Mackie is that bad, is he?
I know we tried to sign him in Janury when he was coming back from injury.
He fought his way into their first team and did well scoring a few times in the process.
I wonder though if it's new interest or just a re-hash of Januarys story?
