Re: Man City (Non-WHU)

On a separate owner Leicester have the same situation where the owner also controls the sponsor (King power). Yes and Leicester also reportedly breached financial regulations in their promotion year but got away with it as they escaped relegation in 2016! If I recall correctly, King Power bid ridic...

Re: Man City (Non-WHU)

I love how those bastions of fair financial play Real Madrid & Barcelona are so keen to hammer Man City & others for 'financial doping'. Has anyone seen the LaLiga TV deal?! Back at the turn of the milenium, Le Real were in financial trouble but did a suspicious deal with city's council which saw t...

Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

, we first need to actually play well enough to secure premier league football for next year otherwise we are going to be the richest team in the championship. Whilst this may sound great I dont see it being easy to get out of.. Yes, as the richest club in the league we would play 23 other teams th...

Re: Sunday Supplement

I'm not convinced by the whole 'Sky knew what they were doing...carefully selected shots of Haller etc' argument. I think they simply bricked it and read out Sullivan's letter. I think anything else is seeing what we want to see. Agree. Why would Sky want a petty squabble with fairly insignificant ...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

If he's not sure, the original decision stands. The problem with this is that it can only apply if a decision wasn't made (or a decision was made that allowed play to continue rightly or wrongly). The ref can't blow and stop play for a f***, penalty, red card etc then get told by VAR that it clearl...

Surely they couldn’t be that stupid ?
I'm pretty sure Newcastle Utd did the same thing a while back - maybe in the 00s.

Re: West Ham Utd v Liverpool: match thread

Missed this match, but from what I've read it sounds as though we played quite well considering, and with a bit of luck we might have got something out of it? I've seen brief Google-sponsored official highlights which bizarrely didn't show half of the chances the newspapers reported we made includin...

He would be by far and away the biggest name player at both the clubs that have previously been mentioned... ...Would it also facilitate the transfer of that MLS bloke we've supposedy been after for some time? Long? Aaron Long is at New York Red Bulls, so I can't see how Reid going elsewhere would ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

They’re trying to get the announcement sorted out. They had a pre-written one from years ago for the next Czech defensive player we sign, which noted how they grew up following West Ham because of their hero Tomas Repka, but given recent events they cannot use this anymore. Simple find & replace Re...

Re: Sunday Supplement

He's not exactly working is he? I dunno - I can think of a few things I'd rather be doing for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon than sitting through this c*rp. And that's exactly the part where I get confused as to their true intentions. They all turn up and sit in full public view through ...

Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread

VAR was used It was? Then I'm flummoxed how it wasn't given then. The angle from the far side clearly shows the goalside defender f*** his leg out sideways into Antonio's legs with no intention to play the ball. A really stupid thing to do. Arguably it wasn't enough to bring him down - who knows, b...

That was a penalty!
A really really stupid f*** of the leg from one of the WBA defenders there! How did they get away with that?
No VAR today :(

Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread

I want Ajeti to score - he's putting in the effort of two strikers. Unfortunately he appears to be the less talented one and I i can easily believe we won't see him score in a West Ham shirt.

Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread

Fair challenge says UTJ and I'd agree though it seems the ref disagreed as WBA restarted with a free kick, But why was O'Shea being treated on the pitch - he could easily have walked or even been stratchered off instead of sitting there for three or four mins holding up the game. And why was he allo...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

8 goals in 17 in the Czech league, 2 goals in 6 in the Champions League. Unusual stats for a defensive midfielder! The Czech league is a funny standard. I went to a Sparta Prague game one season and watched them struggle at home in a three-quarters empty stadium against a newly-promoted club (first...

Re: Albian Ajeti...Welcome to The Hammers.

They checked it on VAR cant see how they can go against that It would just be the opposite way around of the Son red card being overturned retrospectively. I thought he was lucky not to be sent off, though Holgate was provoking him by going so needlessly tight behind him and having a niggle at him ...

Well that's lovely, might as well ask admin to change my username to Billy No Mates.
I'm just gonna sit on my own in the corner and cry into the pint that I'm apparently not sharing with anyone :(
