Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I was at both the last 2 games, Freiburg and Villa. The atmosphere from the start against Freiburg was great from the off (I'm lower West Stand) - perhaps partly as a carry over from the 2nd half v Burnley, partly as everyone there had chosen to buy a ticket for that game. The team responded in kind...

They won't be any more impressed with Hughton now.
I expect Kudus will play against Egypt whether fit or not.

Re: This weeks games 15 Dec - 19 Dec

Interesting in terms of the European (Conference League) qualification. For everyone left in, apart from Liverpool but including us, this is the best or only chance of getting in to Europe next season. And again unless Liverpool win the EFL, it will mean one fewer place in Europe via the league. Obv...

Re: England vs Malta

In other international news, Forbes and Marshall came on for the last 5 minutes or so of Finland-Northern Ireland with the hosts already leading 3-0. Marshall looked reasonably sharp, but Forbes did not exactly give a defensive masterclass as the score changed to 4-0. I didn't see it , but coming o...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24

I agree - especially for a club like us where league "success" isn't really anything more than a few more £ in the prize pot. I agree too that it's great to be in the mix for silverware, and that Moyes is taking all competitions seriously. However remember that the first 2 seasons in this...

9 (nine) consecutive home wins in European competition.

And our UEFA coefficient is now better than Tottenham's.

Re: Hammer in Scottish Cup semi

My apologies to the guy for jinxing him. I've just watched the goals - he was probably a bit at fault for the 3rd, but it was the Caley keeper who got away with a clownish error.
Probably fair enough that we let him go though.

Hammer in Scottish Cup semi

Who knew? West Ham loanee keeper Brian Kinnear will be playing in today's Scottish Cup semi final for Falkirk today against Inverness Cally Thistle. I admit I knew nothing about him until now - he came to us in 2021 from Rangers, having been one of 5 Rangers players suspended in 2021 by the SFA for ...

Re: The Relegation Thread

By the time we play again , not only, as pointed out below, could we be bottom, but in theory we could be 4 points adrift! Ultimately of course we stay up or go down because of our own results, but this looks like a situation where other results will have a real effect on morale. Before we kick off ...

I think Benny is a lot more two-footed than Jarrod, even though some of his left-footed crossing is dodgy!
I too however am not a big fan of inverted wingers.

Re: A new regular Formation?/The formation and tactics thread

Just a thought, apologies if discussed elsewhere; With Bowen being left footed and looking to cut inside from the right, is there a case for switching him out left, and bringing Benrahma to the right? Not necessarily all the time but to change it up during games? Or is the feeling that he's wasted a...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Fulham: match thread

I agree with Fornals to replace Cornet, neither Antonio or Benrahma staked a claim last night for a starting place, and at this point both are bestter suited to be impact subs.
i know we haven't really seen Luca and Micky together up front but I'm not sure I really see it working.
