I tend to agree...need to be smarter and more calm. Two players basically falling over when the ball is there to be tapped in...what were they doingUpneyHammer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 4:20 pm It was definitely a hand ball by Soucek and correctly ruled out.
I’m more p*ssed off that him and Bowen managed to royally balls up an open goal

I mean if one of our players just kicked the ball in the net instead of fannying around we wouldn't have an issue

Johnson and Alvarez basically on each others toes as we have 10 players behind the ball...
How is JWP missing that?? Ings would have buried it

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
25% possession in this second half. Would have liked to see Danny Ings come on instead of a bunch of defenders and midfielders

We keep giving the ball back to them under little pressure. It's poor. Wake up West Ham

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Since their early spell Villa have been quite poor (we've also been very good). As others have said, need to push home the advantage whilst we're on top as I don't think they'll be nearly as passive the second half

Clear foul on Antonio. What is the ref doing? It's clear as day. Feel like every referee is biased against him these days

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Why is Bowen not passing that? Antonio would have been in. I get sometimes you need to be greedy as a striker, but you also need to be smart when there is a better option there.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Villa bossing possession and starting to find their way through our midfield with ease when we come out of the low block shape. We need to get more involved in this game

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Poor touch from Soucek there, otherwise we'd have been in. Aside from one moment of switching off when the throw in didn't go our way, we've had a reasonably solid defensive structure and a good press so far. Also a bit more aggressive than usual which I like. Antonio doing a lot of running up top too
