Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

Strange signing and if he was Moyes premier choice, it's not a good look. For a team lacking pace for a year or 2, we have 3 slow central midfielders in JWP, Soucek and Alvarez. Even Phillips has not improved that. We needed pace and dynamism in midfeld and we got JWP? I don't think he is a bad play...

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

What I don't that is the second player Mount continue to foul Christie in the box. Why didn't VAR slow that down and show it. Not fit for purpose for teams outside the 'big' 6.

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Depends on how we want to play v Fulham. I would hope we would go against the grain and try to have a bit of possession in this one. Fulham don't really have the players to trouble for pace too much on the counter attack (unless they start Traore, who always scores vs us), so their biggest threat w...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread

I liked our defence today, much more better. Zouma and Dinos looked a tower of strength in the centre of defence. I wish we could attack more as a home side but the team is not built or managed that way. I maintain somebody like Benny on the bench to replace a tiring Antonio could have made a differ...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

That was a classy finish by Bowen today. Looks like he has a spring in the step after doing well with England and that will give him more confidence which is only good for us in the business end of the season.

And to think when Phillips was at Leeds, he thought he was too good for us.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

This is going to turn ugly for Moyes. No way the team will recover from this morale losing game. We have Spurs at home on Tuesday and Bayern L. soon. Can we seriously see any wins coming in those games? Why just put Bowen up from when Antonio when off? Paq on the left and Kudus on the right. That ha...

Play he him on the left against Newcastle on Saturday and let PaqMan do his damage in central midfield with Soucek and Phillips.

Re: Declan Rice

As much as Bobby Moore was my hero and pretty much the sole reason for me following this great club of ours, didn't he almost leave us for The Spuds at some point? I know he didn't and the rest is history, but he still could have been an early Declan Rice situation. For what it's worth, I've no ani...

Re: Declan Rice

Arsenal were the only serious bidders. City were interested, but wasn’t as desperate for the position as Arteta was. The club, as in West Ham United, gave Rice permission to speak to them early. It was cordial and respectful, had we, West Ham United said no, he’d have cut it all off. But hey, Rice ...

Damn checking the scores on Ceefax. Happy to see that we 2-0 up with Antonio, then back to 1-0. And at the end 2-1 up with Soucek.

I have been trolled!

Also, who do we think would have taken the penalty if it had been given? Bowen i assume?

I think it would have been Soucek myself as he takes penalties for his national team but all irrelevant I guess.

Played a lovely cross field and without Aguerd no one does it.
Phillips settling in now. He will be play against Burnley and may be the difference in the second leg.

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

Disappointing that their goalie only had one real save to make from Bowen. Need an early goal next week to calm the nerves. We can do it but was a sloppy performance as we should have been 2-0 before they scored. That was a penalty and I was shocked the ref stuck to his decision after he was told by...

Not a bad thing in my opinion, whoever's ground we share will be better than a athletics stadium. But very unlikely to happen.

Re: ✍ Welcome Edson Álvarez

He’s just a clever player. He can smell danger defensively but yesterday he could smell that chance to score and went all in for it, getting his reward at the end. A very composed player. That's a gut busting run to be fair. Think we made the right decision getting Alvarez instead of Palhinha who i...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Just my opinion, as no way of proving it, but I believe we wouldn’t have suffered with any of those issues had we moved to a circa 50k actual football stadium. My hope is that like Juventus who moved from the Stadio Delle Alpi as it was an athletics stadium, we will do the same one day to escape th...

Agreed, looks a top signing after a dodgy start. Hopefully he will be the first choice centre half for the rest of the season.
