Re: Who Next? The odds

If we lose patience with Pele then I would be interested to know what quality of manager we would attract. If I was Arsenal or Man utd I would be looking at Eddie Howe. What he has done with Bournemouth is miraculous and I think he is a winner. I dont think he would look twice at us though. I dont t...

Re: How far ahead should we be planning?

Pellers has a lot more credentials over some of the dross we’ve had in recent years, but to place him above Fenton, Greenwood and Lyall? Obviously one has to allow for inflation, however, I am not sure how many past managers have been given the funds that Pellegrini has relative to other teams in t...

Re: Update on where you think we'll finish

Yep. I reckon 10th. We’ll be down with the Christmas decorations as we always are. We have the 8th best squad in the league (arguably higher than that). As such 8th should represent our par. 10th would be a disappointing season and zero progress from last season. I also have some concerns that a mi...

Re: How far ahead should we be planning?

These days, this ain't really the job of the manager, it's more one for the DoF. Yep, Brendan Rodgers has little or nothing to do with recruitment at Leicester and rather is more in a coaching role. I think there is real merit in having a permanent and fixed scouting/recruitment team which can supp...

How far ahead should we be planning?

I was listening to an interview recently where it was suggested that Leicester City are a very well oiled machine in terms of forward planning for departures and targeting replacements. They have virtually dismantled/sold their title winning side and replaced it with another champions league contend...

Re: Update on where you think we'll finish

I think it will depend on whether we can avoid injuries and if G and S stump any money for new players up in January.... If we are hovering around 4th place come Jan then I think it is an interesting dilemma as to whether or not we add players. Could unsettle the squad, put noses out of joint etc. ...

Re: Update on where you think we'll finish

Anyone who thinks we can finish in the top 4 needs to be reminder how poor our second string performed at Oxford But we wont be playing the second string all at once will we? There will be occasions when the likes of Snodders, Zabba, Masuaku, Balbuena and Ajeti play this season - but not all at onc...

Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread

Wilshere was introduced with about 20 minutes or so to go, and contributed relatively little. I really feel he's done at this level. He is struggling to get through the gears for sure. I was reading an article by Micah Richards on BBC sport - effectively lame before his prime and then nursed along....

Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread

There should be special arrangements made for players like Wilson of Bournemouth and Glen Murray from Brighton. To avoid their inevitable goals we may as well just stick a man on them, neutralise the threat and make it 10v10

Re: Who will be Mark Noble´s long term successor?

I am reasonably confident with our current staff/scouts that we can replace Noble the player. However, finding someone to replace Noble the man is a much greater task. Noble like past players Parker and Neil appears to be a massively respected individual within the current squad.Seems to almost knit...

If we are going to win a cup in my living memory then I would rather it was the FA than the Rumbelows (or whatever the kids are calling it these days).

Jog on league cup, I’m after better.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

Write him off at your peril.

Over the summer some were talking of him having only a bit part to play this season...He is IMO absolutely crucial to our exploits this season both as a player and as a leader.

One of the first names on the team sheet.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

I think there is the germ of a good team there for them – Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, James, Pogba, De Gea, Martial are all excellent players. Doubt Ole will get a chance to build on that currently slight foundation though. They are obviously a few short in terms of quality. That said, I would be interes...
