Instead of going for ‘razzle dazzle’ managers they’d be better of trying to go for someone like Graham Potter.
Quite agree, though will bigger clubs than Brighton allow someone like Potter the time to grow a decent side?

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

You mean by kicking up a fuss at his boyhood club? He's a rock solid professional, he's not going to do that and we wouldn't want him if he did. Man U won't sell. He can't leave until they agree. That's what we're all waiting for. If you really need to see indication he wants to come here, spend a ...

Re: Next managerial casualty

Why would he want to go there? He has a good gig with no real pressure and is doing wonders. Depends how ambitious you are and how much you want to challenge yourself. Everton would be a step up but I think he could probably get a bigger job if he is prepared to wait. Alternatively he could, as you...

Rafa must be a goner.

Will Everton be the first to put their hat in the ring for Potter and would he go?

Re: Who Will Beat Us To Top 4?

Leeds is a massive game. If we win we create daylight and then go to Man Utd knowing that a victory opens up an 11 point gap between them and us.

Lose against Leeds and we are back amongst the pack having played more games.

£38 million for Emiliano Buendía.

Never looks like contributing anything with or without the ball.
Wouldn’t be surprised second half if they replace him with Chukwuemeka. The lad gets knocked down but he gets up again 👍

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Looked this way, assuming he gets to keep the core of the current squad intact for another season or two, we will not see the true potential of this squad until next season, possibly the season after next. I very much like the way Moyes does his business. He seems very methodical, doesn’t want to m...

Refuse their request and see what team they put out.
I shan’t believe Arteta’s claims of a depleated squad until I see seaman on the goal line and Woodcock lining up next to Saka.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

They'd back themselves to come above us regardless of how impactful they think he might be for us, such is their arrogance. Even allowing for that though, I don't think any club can really ignore that sort of money. I can’t think of a player with a bigger motivation than Lingard should he decide to...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Newcastle activated a release clause in Wood's contract. Suggestions in the media to contrary. Apparently release clause could not be activated until the Summer. https://www.google.co.nz/amp/s/talksport.com/football/1018963/chris-wood-release-clause-summer-simon-jordan-burnley-newcastle-transfer-ne...

I still have an inkling we'll get Lingard, but after the Man Utd game.
Moyes hopeful of signings in the next two weeks so you might be right 👍

Man Utd selling Lingard to us would IMO be up there with Burnley’s decision to sell Wood to Newcastle.

I have a feeling the Ake rumours may start up again soon... he's a safe loan option
Given that they are 22 points ahead of Man Utd It might be that City loan us half their team to stop Man Utd’s qualification for UCL 😁

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

if you know a car is worth £1,000 why would you pay £5k for it in January when you can get it for £1k 6 months later. Because the races you are involved in run from Jan-May and you need the car now. Paying a little more now may mean you win one of these races which would likely cover the additional...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

the only way we’ll be able to buy a striker who has contributed more goals than Antonio, let alone him and Bowen combined is if we go for some at Salah’s level! Or Chris Wood. He scored 12 and 14 premier league goals in the past two seasons. Six more than Antonio. He went to Newcastle for 25mil. An...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

The only position in attack I think we need to invest in isn’t a striker but a right sided one. Up front we have Antonio and Bowen who can play there. On the right, who can play there when Bowen isn’t? I disagree. Bringing in a really good centre forward not only adds more goals to the team but it ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Do people think that Moyes has identified a suitable target - availability, skill, attitude and budget wise - for whatever role and is simply not signing him to spite the fans? If I was guessing I would say that Moyes has identified forward players that may not be available until the Summer. I have...
