Re: ✍ Welcome Maxwel Cornet
Cornet with the confidence he had at Burnley would be a great option for us to have on the bench for our next few games. We can but hope he is finally in the right physical state too...

Re: Blue cards
What happens when a keeper gets sin binned? Sub on a backup keeper and sub them back off again 10 minutes later - assuming you have enough subs left?

Re: Summarising three seasons of European Groups.
The last three European group campaigns have exceeded my wildest expectations. And it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :lover: In fact, when was the last time an English team adapted so well to European football after such a long hiatus? Fulham and Middleborough are the only ones to have co...

Even if Leverkusen happened to be the best team in the world right now they still don't play at Anfield

Re: Have you ever touched a match ball?
When York City played at Bootham Crescent, the ball would fairly often sail clean over the uncovered away end and out onto the street beyond. Then you'd have 30 seconds or so to have a kickabout with it before a ballboy ran out through the gates to retrieve it.

I'm pretty sure the european cup tied status reset after the group stages, so we should be OKBubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 6:08 pm Anang was very highly rated on loan in Ireland, but got injured as soon as he went to Derby and didn't play a game.
He actually played 4 Conference League games for Partick. Not cup tied is he?

Re: Declan Rice
The hand waving and petulance is unfortunate, but it's not any worse than what Kevin Nolan used to do to our players. A captain everyone seems to laud would regularly chew out his own team mates on the pitch when they made an errant pass etc. Rice demonstrates his frustration with his teammates in ...

Re: WC of WH Players: Group 2
I feel sorry for Carrick here, thrown in against players who were at the club far longer, or in far more successful times. Despite Devo being the one I never saw on the field he's the one that gets my vote. Watching recorded matches and highlights can't have been the same as seeing him in the flesh,...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
We may have won (as we very much should) but we’ve often looked unconvincing and been fortunate to be facing toothless opposition……which is quite similar to our wins in the league. I do think we're underestimating how much the way we have been playing has made many of our opponents this season look...

Put a little respect on his name, you are "not good" if you play more than 30 times for Italy while winning all that silverware. This. He may not be the defensive rock that we want, but he's far from a bad footballer. Moyes may actually know what he's doing, and along side Aguerd he may l...

Re: ✍ Nikola Vlasic
Vlasic this season has reminded me more then anything of the start of Fornal's time at the club. Struggling a bit to learn new positions, showing in flashes what he could be capable of, but not quite managing to fully mesh into the team. If he kicks on next season integrating himself better into our...

Still trying to work out how it was a penalty when Dawson was still outside the box when he broke contact.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread
Without Pope that would have been 3-1 minimum. Some outstanding saves from him today was the difference between a comfortable win and a hard fought draw for us.
I wonder how different Thursday could have been if Lyon had their 1st choice keeper available?

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread
That's a pretty attacking Burnly lineup, Cornet, Rodriguez, and Wieghorst all starting. I fancy Johnston to keep McNeil quiet, so here's hoping Cresswell is raring to go after sitting the last one out. Lanzini will hopefully free up our defensive mids to do what they do best as he did in Lyon. No re...

That felt like a demolition derby towards the end. I wonder how few of the Ukranians will be fit to play come Saturday?
