Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

I thought Neville's comments were ignorant. We have no right to beat anyone . If I've learnt anything in 45 years it's that. Sheff Utd are having a fantastic season. When we came up last time we came 10th and beat a number of 'good sides' along the way. Our current form is very poor. A good result a...

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

I would love to see Rice given more of a licence to drive forward. - Crouchend Agreed but it's a failure of recruitment to be in this situation. Rice is turning into Scott Parker. He was our best defensive midfielder and attacking player rolled into one. I said on another thread, Anderson, Haller an...

Re: VAR is not the problem, the Law is...

Beauracrats have no time for common sense nor for the love of the game. So they bring in a law that any contact with the hand means a disallowed goal. It's barking and will get changed at some point. Until then we have the farce of a governing body of football seeking to prevent goals being scored. ...

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

A brilliant run by Rice at the end to no avail.

However, it was the sort of run and set up that Lanzini/Haller/Anderson should be doing.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

hammerman - agreed. The reliance on a veteran who is getting visibly slower is a board level balls up. Noble should be used sparingly. Most if not all his opponents run off him every game. It's sad to see. What's even sadder is there appears to be no alternative at the club. Board level incompetence...

Re: Gillingham v West Ham United: FAC3 Match Thread

3 centre backs was the right call.

Surprised Sanchez didn't start ahead of Lanzini. Ideal chance for him to get stuck in.

Anderson showed some lovely touches. Arthur dangerous in attack. Haller....ehem..

Youngster who spends too much time in the gym (to build muscle) runs a bit in chilly weather. Pulls said muscle.

Still, 4 weeks off work full pay aint bad.

Just asked a QPR mate when they'll buy Hugill. He reckons it depends on how much they get for Eze who is looking very good indeed.

Ilias Chair another one to watch

Re: The fixture congestion

Yet to see a player give an interview, smile and say isn't life great.

Coady at Wolves has been an exception. Said he loved the Europa and loves to play as many games as possible. Most of them look like they've lost a tenner and found a quid.

Re: The fixture congestion

Why don't they complain about all the pre season friendlies/tours/air travel? 3/10 players get subbed every game. (keepers don't run). The tired ones get a sit down. Those carrying a knock get rested altogether. Players get injured EVERY month of the year, playing games and in training. It's an ente...

Re: Pablo Fornals

I think he's a bog standard player. No pace, doesn't dribble, not physical, but gets into some good space. Has been unlucky not to score.

If he was English he wouldn't be near a Prem side. He plays for West Ham so I hope he improves a lot and makes a big impact. :crest:

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Bournemouth: Match thread (01/01)

As Rice was looking up, I'm sure he had time to get the ball onto his right side. But he knew he was good enough to play it with his left.

He's a class act.

Hope he can teach Arthur to use his right foot then we'll have another option in midfield.

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

He went to shake Haller's hand who obliged but the striker never looked at him. Tells me Moyes gave him a rocket this week and told him what's expected of a lone striker. So they're not the best of chumns at the moment. Let's face it, Haller's a great finisher but needs a nudge...Pellers indulged hi...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini sacked

The most damning thing I've heard was from Joleon Lescott. Just before Christmas he was asked on Sky what MP is like. JL said he didn't work with the defenders at Man City and basically let them get on with it. His only concern was the attacking play. It's like he assumed we'd have 70% possesion eve...
