Re: Protests against the board being planned

Tross and Pinky have beaten me to an extremely good post but here’s my version. On route to “celebrate” the 10 year anniversary of Gold and Sullivan owning the club. Exactly 10 years ago, we sat 16th, today we sit 16th... So many broken promises from the current board whilst often showing pure dista...

Re: The Accounts

Apologies to the mods for dragging this thread up but the accounts should be out fairly soon and I was just reading back through the thread. Found it interesting to remind myself of certain things after some of the recent discussions which have taken place this week.

Back to 50k on the waiting list for season tickets are we?

Good questions put to her in a short interview, but like a media trained politician she answered with waffle and “facts”.

Re: VAR is not the problem, the Law is...

UTJ, I have to disagree about it’s interpretation. The law was changed to be quite specific this year: HANDLING THE BALL It is an offence if a player: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, including moving the hand/arm towards the ball gains possession/control of the ball after it has t...

Re: VAR is not the problem, the Law is...

Great post gravesendhammer. Sums it up perfectly for me. VAR clearly does have major issues - eg the time it takes, lack of clear communication in the ground, and offside with the current technology not being clear enough - but the biggest issue last night was the law. Whilst without VAR it is highl...

Re: Sheffield away: travel and safety

Saw about 10 wagons racing up to the centre as we walked back to the car park from the ground so guessed it was kicking off somewhere. No surprise after the end of the game especially.

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

Just back home. Stupid ****ing handball law! Yes VAR implemented the law but it’s an awful, awful law. Other way round it wouldn’t have been a free kick or penalty if in the box, so why is it enough to disallow a goal. Awful! Still I guess if we go down by 1 point we’ve now got grounds to sue Sheffi...

Re: Sheffield away: travel and safety

Even if it wasn’t for the fact it was announced only 3 days before the game, club coaches aren’t ideal for everybody due to the pickup/drop off being in Stratford. I know of 5 other away season ticket holders as well as myself who don’t live in London and would have to travel at least an hour to get...

And to think the sun tried to throw him under the bus with the nightclub incident, f’ing knobheads - as Buttler would say!

Fantastic win and performance on what became a very flat pitch. I’ve been critical of Root as a captain but he got it spot on here.

Sir Ben Stokes is just incredible.

If the ICC needed a reason why not to change tests to 4 days, this is it!

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Allen would’ve been a decent signing 5 years ago. He’s now getting on and other than he’s an upgrade on Sanchez as a rotation option, he’s not a great signing all things considered if it happens.

If he and Fernandes come in, then it will be just about acceptable for me.

Re: Stuart Pearce: the board blocked my return (Talksport)

Ridiculous decision by the board, another to add to the list. Don’t have much sympathy for Moyes not getting the staff he wants though as he knew exactly what he was signing up for working for them again. People saying about bibs and cones, are they not confusing Pearce with Dicks? Pearce has coache...

Did Bournemouth do one this season when we were there, can't say I noticed :?
It was daytime this season. I seem to recall it happening there, I think possibly the year Payet and Valencia both scored free kicks.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Suggestion on Twitter that the club are (perhaps unsurprisingly) looking to join Southampton, Bournemouth, Wolves, and I think Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City, and Watford, in having a pre match light show... I’m not sure that will go well with our fan base.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Bournemouth: Match thread (01/01)

Our main hope is that Bournemouth look really poor. Will we really expect a bounce because of Moyes? Last time we put in an abject display against a not great Watford team who’d lost 3 on the spin before facing us, and lost in his first game, and didn’t win until his 5th. I hope we do get the lift w...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

I won’t go against him even though I don’t want him back here. That said he needs to win me over to support him. His last spell almost ended me going as a home and away season ticket holder because the football ‘entertainment’ was appalling. The disappointment and anger though isn’t at Moyes himself...

Re: Who Next? The odds

Whilst the hope in the delay of the announcement of Moyes is that they’ve realised the vast majority of fans don’t want him back, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s that they’ll announce it at a late hour to avoid the main news. If I recall correctly that’s what happened the last time.

If that is true then do we not learn?! The manager shouldn’t be having a say in the DOF!
