Re: ⚽ West Ham United v FCSB: match thread

I thought the substitutions made a huge difference. Downes impressed, first time passing was sharp and he we was very quick (physically and metaphorically) to react to danger. The biggest surprise was his strength, he is very physical in the challenge. Emerson is a a tidy player, but he is not going...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v FCSB: match thread

Regan Clayton is an interesting one. Very good, young left back but only 17. He's from Romford, I think.

Looks like Ashby is on the naughty step

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Oh and we shouldn't sign Wan Bissaka. We are well stacked with right backs who he is no better than. Our team currently has a problem with the quality of it's distribution and Wan Bissaka is being bombed by Utd because over the last 3 seasons he has failed to pass the ball to anyone in the same colo...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Just wondering but could it be the case that ashby might prefer newcastle being as his family is scottish so is closer to them? Ashby plays for Scotland because his granny once went on holiday there. He and his family are from North Kent. His father, Barry (also not Scottish),is an ex pro footballe...

Now there's positive.

A very loyal and conservative manage is a dynamic.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

I don't know why people are so keen to sell the players that have got us to 6th and 7th place finishes. Fornals, Benrahma, Dawson, Antonio, Lanzini and Soucek all suggested as being sold in the last few pages. If we are about to sign Paqueta and possibly Vanaken, you would't sell Lanzini? He's been...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Its possible Paquetà might play in the middle with Rice and Soucek isn’t it? The sort of team I’d like to see… Fab Johnson, Kehrer, Zouma, Ogbonna, Emmerson Rice, Paquetà, Soucek Bowen Scamacca I'd swop Fornals with Soucek - we desperatly need more 'football in our midfield, the whole reason for si...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Historically an 8 was a second striker. Paul Goddard, Frank McAvennie, Stuart Pearson............. Paul Goddard is possibly my favourite West Ham player ever; very underrated. His signing was a show of real intent and he was sold too early (in part due to the deluded McAvennie cult [which I underst...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Don’t we have 1 space after Paqueta? Yes, on the assumption that Longelo and Cardoso will not be registered. There is also the possibility that Aguerd won't be registered to January depending on how bad the injury is. That would give us 2 more spaces. Senior players Trott, Anang, Masuaku and Vlasic...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

I’m well aware of the divide in the rating of Fornals. For me I’m gutted he’s not turned into the player I thought he would. 1 year left on his current contract after this season and approaching 27 I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s consistent enough for a starting place in a side that’s hunting dow...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

According to an interview on a rival site , exwhu employee has said Emerson is close and we want Vanaken and Maitland-Niles on permanent deals and Gallagher on loan. I’d prefer McTominay over Maitland-Niles, but those 4 signings would give us balance and depth we haven’t ever had. Spot on. And whil...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

He just does the simple things well. Nothing flash. Suffers due to the club he plays for and their idiot fans bigging him up beyond his ability. Would be a decent partner for Rice and would allow us to play a proper 10 as he is much better on the ball than Soucek. Would lose the attacking threat th...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Viborg FF: match thread

Whilst the comments on here about Coventry's performance are mostly fair, the one point that has not been made is that he was the best of our three starting midfielders. I accept that this is, though, faint praise.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Viborg FF: match thread

My thoughts on the game: Areola - some decent saves but distribution was quite poor. Ashby - looked comfortable on the ball with decent pace, but a little slow closing down. Johnson - thought he did ok. Oggy - great to have him back, could be an important player. Coufal - did surprisingly quite wel...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Watching us live today for the first time this season, we do need a creative midfielder in the middle. Lazini does not seem right for that anymore as the injury has hampered his turn of pace. I hope Fornals or Benny gets that role ahead of Lazini now. It seems that Moyes is concerned with Soucek's ...
