Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

That is why opponents come waltzing through our MF and straight on to our CBs or FBs with only Rice offering any real resistance! We don't need or want another solid sitting DM, but we need a partner for Rice that is quicker than Noble, more consistent and switched on than Obiang and more creative ...

No way are Tottenham loaning a player to us unless we throw money at the deal.

I think MP sees Sanchez as Rice's reserve. That is a big weakness for me, but it does explain why we've not looked to bring anyone in there.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I blame Sullivan for his lack of proper investment and Pellegrini for ignoring the "gaping weakness"(Rice excluded) that is our DM which is exacerbated by very average and inconsistent(in defense) FBs! It was plain to see much of last season and still there in this summer's friendlies, imo. I imagin...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I'm confident Diangana won't cut it at the top level. The same prediction I make for all our youth team products and one that will blindly return an accuracy of about 98%. The sooner he gets experience at a level he could forge a legitimate career, the better for him. Although you could see Rice wa...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Only pity for me is that he did not go to a lower half prem side like Norwich. Would tell us much more about his potential to become a first teamer for us. With us he'd be unlikely to make the bench. At Norwich I think he'd probably be a sub. WBA are one of the top Championship sides and I think he...

We don't have to release him. We can keep him and not name him in the squad which just means he can't play for the first team until Jan.

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19

Batshuayi has 1 goal in 15 odd matches for Valencia who are deperate to shift him. He clearly doesn't want to play for us as this is about the 4th time he's made that clear. Forget him.

In honesty, we need a defender and a midfielder way more than a striker.

Re: Declan Rice

Rice was born in London to English parents. His grandparents on his father's side were from Douglas, County Cork. He's never lived in Ireland. He's not Irish is he. This Grandparent rule is and always has been a joke. Biggest joke of all is when Tony Cascarino tells Jack Charlton that he has no Iri...

:P
Kevin Kilbane took 110 caps from Irishmen then, because he is very much English. Born and raised in Preston.

Re: Declan Rice

That would be perfectly fine, if he hadn't already played for Ireland. It should be too late now, it makes a complete mockery of International football if you can chop and change like how Rice potentially could. It's only because he hasn't played for them competitively. That said, anyone who thinks...

Re: Arsenal v West Ham Utd: match thread (25/8)

Diop needs to be given a chance. Cannot do much worse than what I saw from Ogbonna on Saturday. Misplays the one on four, gives a dreadful foul away just outside the box, then it is his man that heads home the winner. I thought Balbuena was at more fault for the first one - absolute tart of a "tack...

Bob We should be telling our players not to be making passes they were never going to make. It was never on in a vital part of the pitch that sent them on their way with us on the back foot. I won't excuse the other players part they also played be it Noble, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Fabianski but Snodgra...
