Re: January 2021 Transfer Window

I think Bondz Ngala and Dan Potts are both supposed to be doing very well at Luton in the C'ship. Speaking of promising kids, any news on Man City signing that Baah we were after from Rochdale? He sounded like a huge prospect. I was kinda excited about us bringing him in because our bid defo seemed...

I fully agree with the sentiment but to be completely accurate, it is just over 3 months.(Albeit half a season)
Which means that, if his hamstrings go pop, he'll miss twice as many matches as usual!

Actually having loaned Tosun, unless they sign King, Everton have only on recognised central striker in Calvert-Lewis (converted winger) otherwise it is Iwobi, Richarlison, Bernard or a youngster (Gordon).
At least they're trying to address the issue!

Why not? It is that same thin squad that got us there in the first place
If we stay as relatively lucky as we have done so far with injuries then we'll be fine. But if we lose the wrong players (Rice, Soucek, Antonio) then there's no way we can stay this high.

Re: January 2021 Transfer Window

To be fair, have any/many of you viewed other teams supporter web sites? I have, and most (90%) are not happy with business done or more importantly not done. I'm not trying to excuse our performance here, just trying to give it some perspective. I haven't and I am certain you're right. But I'd be ...

I'd assume we can still make a loan move for King after the deadline??
Nope - no loans after 11pm tonight. Free agents or nothing from there.

Re: January 2021 Transfer Window

I can't believe Moyes actually means it when he says he is happy. If 2 of Rice, Soucek, Antonio get injured we are absolutely screwed. If all 3 of them do then we'll struggle to take another point. Meanwhile we're playing games with 4 or 5 defenders on the bench. The squad is so unbalanced it is lau...

Re: January 2021 Transfer Window

Costa has been **** for years now. 17/18 - 7 in 23 18/19 - 5 in 21 19/20 - 5 in 30 20/21 - 2 in 7 Total over 4 years = 19 in 81 = a goal every 4.25 games. In the same amount of time: Haller scored 49 in 137 = a goal every 2.8 games Lucas Perez scored 26 in 89 = a goal every 3.4 games Costa is past i...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

King has 48 goals in 161 PL appearances over the last 5 seasons. I'd definitely take him, although I think he might be 3rd choice when everyone is fit.

(Although I don't even know who our third choice striker is currently - Obubeko?!)

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

I won't miss any of the players we've let go, but it leaves us very bare. And it puts us in a position where we could be a couple of injuries away from the likes of Coventry, Holland, Kemp, Alese, etc HAVING to perform as they will be our only options. I have no issue with playing these guys, but th...

Re: Corona virus WHU /football related

The season must finish. We're 75% of the way thru. Even if 'this season' is played to a finish in October/November and 'next season' starts immediately after. To reduce the fixture congestion next season, make european competitions an Fa cup style knockout and cancel all domestic cups for one seaso...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

That is why opponents come waltzing through our MF and straight on to our CBs or FBs with only Rice offering any real resistance! We don't need or want another solid sitting DM, but we need a partner for Rice that is quicker than Noble, more consistent and switched on than Obiang and more creative ...

I think MP sees Sanchez as Rice's reserve. That is a big weakness for me, but it does explain why we've not looked to bring anyone in there.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I blame Sullivan for his lack of proper investment and Pellegrini for ignoring the "gaping weakness"(Rice excluded) that is our DM which is exacerbated by very average and inconsistent(in defense) FBs! It was plain to see much of last season and still there in this summer's friendlies,imo...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I'm confident Diangana won't cut it at the top level. The same prediction I make for all our youth team products and one that will blindly return an accuracy of about 98%. The sooner he gets experience at a level he could forge a legitimate career, the better for him. Although you could see Rice wa...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Only pity for me is that he did not go to a lower half prem side like Norwich. Would tell us much more about his potential to become a first teamer for us. With us he'd be unlikely to make the bench. At Norwich I think he'd probably be a sub. WBA are one of the top Championship sides and I think he...
