Re: England Cricket: tour of South Africa

Ultimately as a Cumbrian who has played again Stokes multiple times at both junior and senior cricket there's only one thing to say.

If you want a job doing properly, send a Cumbrian. Up the marra's

Re: England Cricket: tour of South Africa

Root's best match as captain, pundit's have all echoed that. All I can comment on is what I saw in the grass banks of Newlands. Delighted we got the win but it was due to Stokes not Root's captaincy. Maybe I was ill informed and Broad and Anderson were both crook, if so I'll hold my hands up. But f...

Re: England Cricket: tour of South Africa

What a day on the grass banks.

If you need something doing send a Cumbrian.

As a Cumbrian who's played against him I was delivered to see him knock over the last three.

One of the best test matches I've seen, even with Root's shocking captaincy.

This aged well Slacking.
One swallow doesn't make a summer. Hope I'm wrong but genuinely can't see him being successful at test level with his current technique.

*I also blame the Castle lager at Newlands for this previous statement :arry:

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes

Have to say being at Newlands, it's one day the best grounds in the world to watch international sport. Absolutely annihilates the MCG from a spectators point of view. Pint and a half of beer in the WPCC pavilion costs about £1.50. Shame about the cricket. Sibley will never make it as an internation...

Re: Christmas Tree Watch

Why would you not want to have your tree up on Christmas Eve-Eve, but still have it up Monday 6th Jan - a full 4 days after most of us are back at work? FWIW Mrs S will almost certainly have our tree down on the 27th. Because the 6th is epiphany marking the end of the festive period. That's when th...

Re: Christmas Tree Watch

Wrong 'uns the lot of ya, with your early trees.

Should be up no earlier than the 21st of December, I'd prefer 24th, and down on the 6th Jan.

Have a word with yourselves.

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes

And another stat from Andrew Samson, the BBC Test Match Special statistician.

In the 10 Test matches Joe Root has played in 2019 he has scored 548 runs, at an average of 27.4.

How long before we can have a conversation about his automatic place in the side

Have they got any players that haven't scored in a while?

New manager coming in and potentially giving them a chance against us seems like a licence to print money :|

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes

Bit harsh that Puff, it's nipped a bit and Archer who is coming in at 9 had nicked it. Fair dismissal in my opinion
