Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Maybe. But for us to be taken over by new owners we need some investors to show some interest. As far as I am aware we haven't had that yet. And knowing our luck of having sh*t owners throughout the history of the club, I can't see that changing any time soon. I noticed the Baroness is allowed to h...

Keep Anderson and he might stay... he seems quite enamoured with him.

Their left back is ten times the player Cresswell is... we should keep an eye on him.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

Looks that way to me, that's quality from our Captain, offering the new signing the chance to get off the mark. Equally impressed that Haller didn't take him up on it. *Haller has scored 23 and only missed 1 in his career... Look at him also talking to Arthur, more than likely about the pace of Del...

Yes, agree but that wouldn’t have been because of VAR, that would have been Peller’s shitty tactics!

Yet I thought when City had their goal ruled out, it gave us a boost, sure it lasted all of 5 minutes, but I’d say it would have benefitted us more against a weaker opponent.

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

Whilst I disagree almost entirely with your previous post, I do agree with you here. I regularly read that VAR has been brought in for the benefit of the TV companies but can’t really see what they get out of it. I can’t see any particularly great benefits to Sky or the BBC of VAR being used in gam...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

I get the impression that for some of you VAR is just the straw that broke the camel's back. VAR in itself doesn't cause the amount of pain that some are making out it does... So what if we celebrate a disallowed goal, we used to do it when we'd get a late linesman's flag. Besides, celebrating a goa...

Re: ⚽ Watford v West Ham Utd: match thread

I mean, we've got some pretty ****ing good players to be fair. Whether we can get them playing together is another thing, but quality wise, we are 'good enough' to beat Watford. On that basis we were good enough to beat Brighton, or Burnley, or Cardiff. As you say it's getting them to play collecti...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

I often wonder if our gameplans are devised in training whilst playing against our own defence. When we finally get to the game, we find out it doesn't work as the opposition defence is so much better. :D Also why do we concede so many goals that originate with a ball played inside our fullback (mos...

Their confidence will be low, we should be taking advantage of that, and we are more than good enough to do so.
What makes you think we're good enough?

Re: ⚽ Watford v West Ham Utd: match thread

People using our 4-1 win last season as a yard stick should remember it was a week before their cup final appearance.

They'll be up for getting their first points of the season, and our generous defence will let them.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

We’ll never finish top 8 under these charlatans - if we threaten to do so they simply see it as an opportunity to reduce the budget (and start moving pieces into place to see the manager as the issue). Problem is that Pellegrini is slowly losing support. (not helped by 2 consecutive games featuring...

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

It's why we're hamstringing ourselves until we get some new fullbacks in – we're likely to have a season of treading water until that happens. Seeing as we've spent a grand total of 10 million (6m Masuaku/4m Cresswell) on fullbacks in the last 20 years, I would say that we're going to have quite a ...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

It bemuses me how some people speak as though our problems are so blindingly obvious and yet our coveted, experienced, title-winning manager doesn't have the insight or footballing knowledge to see what they do, a vision of what he's trying to achieve, or the ability to at least try and improve us....

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

The goal we conceded was yet more schoolboy defending. If we want to win games this needs addressing. I'm not convinced this is a personnel problem, it looks like coaching to me, they don't hold shape, they don't seem to know who should be where and the decision making suffers. If this goes on much...

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Diop doesn't play well with Ogbonna. Not sure if it's a trust thing, or if it's just that he has to play right sided CB.

Did Balbuena and Ogbonna ever play together last season?
