Re: Ben Johnson

Sliced the ball out for their late corner, which almost cost us the game. Makes too many errors like this to justify a new contract.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

My take on the 3 VAR incidents: 1. It didn't look like a penalty in real time, nor on the replay but VAR was never going to overturn it as a clear and obvious error. 2. Emerson made slight contact with the defender's foot and he went down like he was shot. Contact doesn't mean a foul. Goal should ha...

Well obviously, as he has more than 2 years left on his contract now

Re: Ben Johnson

Absolute cobblers. Very little between the 2 and Johnson can play either full back position. We should be looking to keep him. Yes Johnson can play both full back positions - equally badly. Coufal is a level above Johnson, just compare their assists for one thing, never mind technique, positioning,...

he has absolutely zero awareness of what's going on around him most of the time.
Just because you said it before doesn't make it any more right this time around.

Coufal is ten times the player Johnson is. Johnson is championship level at best. I don't know what some of you are watching sometimes.

Re: Aston Villa vs West Ham United: match thread

Tricky game this one, they've won 10 in a row at home, scoring plenty of goals in the process. Shame they didn't stick with Gerrard really. Having said that, we have a great record against them in recent years and their attacking style and high line is perfect for the way we play. They've recently b...

Re: Liverpool statement [non WHU]

VAR has a role to rule out the absolute howlers but there is no doubt it has spoiled the spontaneous enjoyment of a game. One possible solution would be to have a cricket style appeal system where a club has 1 VAR appeal a game that they can use at any time, to appeal against a goal or sending off. ...

Solid signing, in a similar mould to Noble but better free kicks. Not exciting but sensible.

Re: What are your ambitions now for the Club?

I'd like the club to be run in a manner that befits 62,000 paying fans and an appropriate amount of ambition that enables us to keep our best players from the clutches of clubs a few miles away, who despite winning nothing lately and having less fans through the gate, are seen as a much better bet t...

Also, thanks to Chelsea for kicking him out at age 14, giving us one of our best ever players for 245 games, a European trophy and over £100m in the bank. One of our better transactions.

I've actually seen a preview of Dec's goodbye video.

It has Rice & Sullivan doing a duet of Human League's "Don't you want me baby", with Sullivan dressed as Phil Oakey and Dec as the dark haired girl. Everyone's gonna love it.

Re: So, how much would YOU accept Rice going for?

There is no fee that would reflect his worth to us. Whoever signs him is getting one of the best defensive midfielders in world football and the next England captain, with 10 good years ahead of him. If he goes for £100m, that works out at £10m a season for the buying club, a drop in the ocean for t...
