Re: 2017 Bahrain Formula 1 GP

Think this is going to be a good one.

Lewis v Vettel, can see a proper race on, this is a reasonable track for overtaking.

Re: The 2017 Australian Grand Prix

I'm with BILR Some of my favourite races was when a pass was done in the pits, Hungary 98 where Schumacher did a whole stint at qualifying pace was simply mesmerising in a car that wasn't up to Mclarens. Similarly, France 04 (admittedly the car was Head and shoulders above the rest, but to pull off ...

Re: The 2017 Australian Grand Prix

Thought so  All the hype about the new cars being five seconds quicker, mainly due to increased downforce, has had the effect on actual racing that many of us predicted, i.e. none. I read Hamilton saying he couldn't get past Verstappen despite being significantly quicker. Same old same old. T...

Re: The 2017 Australian Grand Prix

I didn't watch it, but I assume Vettel didn't actually overtake Hamilton on the track? No, followed within a second for most of the first stint, Hamiltons tyres went off, he had to put early then got caught behind Verstappen, Vettel did just enough and got out in front 7 or so laps later when he st...

Will be fun to watch.
Roy, Finch, KP and Sangakkara is some top 4 to have in T20, backed up with them curran brothers who I'm sure will play for England one day. Surrey have one tasty T20 side

Re: MOTO GP 2017

After much messing around before the start we finally had a race.

Zarco rapid out the blocks then crashed. Rossi comes from row 4 to 3rd. Marvellous Maverick bused his time, then struck with 2 laps left against Dovizioso. Marquez 4th. Lorenzo 12th

Brilliant race, put the F1 to shame today.

Re: Boxing thread

Linares is elite level. Riding the crest of the wave at the mo, needs to get in with Garcia.

Hard to see where Crolla goes, got massively outclassed by the better man. He's a massively likeable boxer, loved the way he carried on after the corner tried to pull him last night.

Flanagan? Campbell?

Re: The 2017 Australian Grand Prix

Australia isn't the best track for overtaking anyway, expect to see more at "proper" circuits. Vettel was imperious today, as Schumacheresque drive as you'll see, obviously the racing wasn't great but he showed you can keep with the car in front with how he managed to follow Lewis early on...

Re: The 2017 Australian Grand Prix

Mighty lap by Lewis in Q3, quarter of a second quicker than Vettel in second. Can see Bottas becoming a modern day Barrichello, hasn't got enough to challenge Lewis, solid back up. Ricciardo crashed hard in Q3, Red Bull look some way off. Could see Hamilton v Vettel over a season, it's what F1 needs.

Re: Boxing thread

I'd like to see the rematch although it wouldn't sell as much now IMO, the talk and hype sold the fight. As far as I can tell I'd say Hayes done, been out of the ring to long and body is giving up on him. Massive respect to him for hanging it out on one leg. Have to give credit to Bellew too, he did...

This is incredible. Anyone questioning Hayes heart needs to have a word, how's he going on one leg?

Eubank TKO in the 10th

Didn't give Quinlan a round, Eubank dished out some punishment, Quinlan was very tough lot of respect for him.

Quelle Surprise Root gets to 50 and gets out. In his last 6 games against India he has got to 50 and not converted Not one to dig out Root as he's always there or thereabouts but his conversion rate across all formats of late has been shocking of late compared to Kohli who he's regularly compared t...
