Re: The League Cup

I don't agree with letting teams drop out. What's the fun in winning it if the top teams haven't even participated? The prestige of the tournament is completely lost if that happens.

Single leg semi-finals at neutral grounds are essential and stringent punishments for weakened teams.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Do any of you think that a team might come in for Anderson in January and would you want him to go? I don't think any (sane) club would pay the money we'd demand for him. He's not been good enough and his best way of getting a move to a big club is for him to pull his finger out of his backside and...

Re: First Time At Upton Park

2001, Rio Ferdinand's first game back at Upton Park for Leeds. Lost 2-0 and in true West Ham fashion, Ferdinand scored. Pretty sure Robbie Keane scored the other one and I vividly remember David Batty being sent off. My Grandad took me to that game and I remember the immortal words he said as we lef...

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham United: Match thread (26/12)

Ben Johnson has just been removed 15 minutes into his return from injury for the U23's so that could answer that one for us.

Zaba vs Zaha it is.

ORIGINAL (the red ones) Lindor Chocolates. Already got through one big box and one small box in my house!

Will be doing a Bourbon and Maple Smoked Ham on the BBQ on Christmas Eve to be eaten on Christmas Day.

Re: ⚽ Southampton v West Ham United: Match thread (14/12)

Seen a lot of noise about the Ings disallowed goal, particularly those moaning about it on The Opposition View. If you watch it again, you will see Ogbonna looks at the ref about to blow his whistle, stops playing and moves out of the way when he was in position to make a simple block. So if it wasn...

Re: Subs who have been subbed?

Not quite a sub being subbed but Iheanacho was taken off before half-time by Brendan Rodgers at the weekend despite not having an injury. Just as much of a kick in the nuts I say! Re Dunc/Kean: don't they add time on for subs anyway? I've never understood teams making late subs to time waste when I'...

Re: West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur: Match Thread 23/11/2019

I've just posted in another thread about my disillusionment with West Ham at the moment and how I hope that the love that I once had for this great club is reignited. Now if there's one fixture that could do that in recent times, it's this one. The one thing that stopped me from completely detesting...

Re: Do we matter to other clubs fans.

Nope. We barely even care about ourselves anymore. Well, maybe I'm speaking for myself but I suspect I'm not alone. I have my own sporting commitments on a Saturday so have never had a season ticket but for years have always done everything I can to go to games that fall on a Sunday or midweek. I wa...

Peter Siddle (far left) has been playing for Essex for the last couple of seasons. I imagine that has something to do with it!

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......

The yanks call(ed) us Limeys, the French call us Rosbifs, the Germans: Inselaffe (Island Apes :-) ) The Aussies/Kiwis : Poms/Pommies. The Afrikaaners call us rooinek (redneks) apparently. I'd be interested in other names (the more insulting/funny the better) for the English from hammers around the ...

Re: Today i bumped into...

Great story, but I have two observations 1) How did you know it was our Arthur you saw? I mean, tbh, I wouldn't be able to recognise our Arthur, even if, like you, I did bump into him in the street 2) Im curious wht he woudl be doing in the herat of London's financial district at any part of the da...

Re: Arthur Masuaku

Posted this in the snug but thought I'd share in here for your amusement... A bizarre turn of events yesterday, I was walking down Cheapside from St.Paul's to Bank and saw our very own Arthur crossing the road, Louis Vuitton bag in hand. Watched him go into the Metrobank and then realised that he ha...

Managed to wangle a last minute hospitality ticket for Twickenham tomorrow in the Player's Lounge. Just hope Ireland can do us a favour and make sure our game has something riding on it!

Re: Friday night kick offs. Next season.

Selfishly I hope it happens. I can't make Saturday games due to my own sporting commitments so I'm always on the hunt for tickets that aren't on Saturday's. If all or the majority of home games were to be on a Friday, I would be one extra Season Ticket holder!
