Re: Stan Bowles R.I.P.

In hindsight, you would have to think that QPR got the better result on the Marsh to Man C vs cash and Bowles deal. Stan was excellent in those years with Francis, Thomas, Venables, Mancini etc. Others may have better memories, but I don't recall Marsh being the same player after the transfer (until...

Re: Little things in life that make you smile

Final visit to medical research gaff yesterday (signed up for it 2 years ago cos I was bored in hospital). "A doctor wants to test the bleeding time, do you agree?" Mind instantly went back to James Robertson Justice in Carry On Doctor: "What's the bleeding time?" "Erm, hal...

I was in a pub restaurant in Rochdale a few weeks back.

I asked to see the wine list - no kidding, the reply was 'we have red, white or rose' :smiler:

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

Areola Coufal Mavro Aguerd Emerson Alvarez Phillips Bowen Kudus Cornet Ings Not convinced by Areola. He's a good shot-stopper, but he doesn't command his box, and then the CBs are confused and don't attack the ball, and the next thing we're 3 down to soft headers and a penalty. Otherwise, I'd agree...

Re: When Was The Last Time....

At my age Jennings, the strap line should read 'when was the first time you did something for the last time'

I bought a mountain bike about 3 years ago. Will probably never buy another!

Re: Little things in life that make you smile

Does this happen to anyone else or just me... You are walking along somewhere.....could be anywhere ....but there is no-one around you at all. No people, no nothing... But you suddenly get a wiff of a womans perfume glide up around your nose from absolutely nowhere. And you look around like a blood...

Welcome to Spotty Penguin, a leading graphic design agency based in Essex! Not sure about the exclamation mark. Looks good to me, although the exclamation mark suggests a surprise e.g. based in Essex, of all places !! Also, you have a few rogue capitalisations in your last contact us paragraph. Bit...

Re: A place to call home: where next?

I'm actively house-hunting in London.

Having seen UTJ's picture I do feel like I'm not going to be getting much for my money (other than location that is).

Dusting the old black toilet seats with cobalt blue powder.

You can't see it, until it sticks to your arse/legs, at which point you have a blue ring for about a week or so.

I remember 40!

Looking back, I think I was still young at that age - I was still fit, everything still worked, and I didn't make a noise when I sat down.

Nailing poached eggs the first time I did them. Usually fry eggs in lard but know that's not optimal. These poached eggs were so fluffy, pure taste of egg, lovely yolk and just so much healthier too. Problem is I now feel I've wasted so much time/effort in doing fried eggs in the past. :crylol: Too...

Re: New Years Resolutions 2024

Why Dutch? I'm asking because I was thinking about trying to properly learn a different language. It would be nice to go away and actually be able to converse rather than just ordering beer and asking where the toilet is. Hi Coops Fair question! The company I work for merged with a large Dutch orga...

Re: Little things that irritate you

The West Ham website . . . . . I've been trying to buy a place on the waiting list for a season ticket. This means setting up an account, which then has to be confirmed. So far so good. Now I want to buy two, so when it asks 'how many do you want' I enter 'two' (logical??) It then says that the orde...

Re: West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers: match thread

:decks: Said this to the blokes around me at the game - if a decision is so tight to call thay VAR spends what seems like an eternity to look at then likely you would have begrudgingly accepted those decisions pre VAR because of human error. Now we seem to spend an eternity checking them, even if a...

Gosh….. I never imagined back in the sixties we would moan about attendances of circa 48,000, or that we would have a sample of three seasons to calculate the European game mean average. I wonder what fans of Bournemouth, Palace, Fulham, Brentford etc… make of such articles on supposed fanzines of ...
