I think there is some serious mileage in us potentially being interested in Toney.

Yes but it is still just a figure that only comes into effect if the buying club is obliged to buy the player.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

There's simply more intelligent ways to run football clubs than to try and shaft Chelsea for a few quid. If the clubs have agreed deals early, it will be due to both parties being happy and that club wanting to make sure a player target is signed early. If that's bad business, then I don't know wha...

time=1711458961 user_id=8960] Newcastle is an obligation. They can't decide to pay less. A fee is agreed.[/b] Dortmund can do what they like, but they have been playing Maatsen non stop. Why would they mess around instead of sign a player that's important to their team? If they have agreed a fee lo...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Reckon there will be a few deals announced early and formalised when window opens. But little will happen between 14th and 30th. Players will be at the Euros, those that aren't will be on holiday. I suspect that Chelsea are currently working around the clock to have deals in place for the 14th June...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

What does that actually mean though mate? Aside from Levy, who also has history of messing it up on the buying side with Grealish and Berahino, Is there any evidence that most clubs go around offering peanuts? Chelsea selling their players on the cheap means that they might still fail to meet the s...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Most of this is just you guessing though. You aren't sure on the figure. One has been banded about, but other places have dismissed it. Most importantly you're guessing on the behaviour of other clubs. Newcastle have an obligation. Whether it falls through for a different reason, who knows, but it ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Fulham wont buy Broja, he has played a grand total of 495 minutes for them this season. That deal is effectively off. And it has been hugely reported that Newcastle may have to sell 1 or 2 big star players to stay in line with FFP and yet they're supposedly going to lump £35m on a 19 year old who ha...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

So they have Gallagher, Hall, Maatsen, Chalobah and Broja to choose from there. In addition to this, just because clubs know Chelsea want to be selling, doesn't meant that clubs will deliberately mess them around to hurt them . If clubs are interested in the players, they will get the deal done. If...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

the £500m plus in 22/23 is going to hurt for the next 7 years. The £28m they're counting on for the sale of Lewis-Hall to Newcastle only kicks in as an obligation if certain appearance requirements are met. I mean Newcastle could just put him on the bench for 9 games then offer Chelsea £15m on the ...

Chelsea have between 14th June and 30th June to raise £110m in profit from sales.

And anyone buying is aware of this.

Could be wrong but I beleive Mount was accumulated in the year ending 30th June 2023.

Regardless of that the figure is well documented to be circa £100m
