Re: Takeover talk

Hmmmm. So the LLDC are currently operating at a £20m yearly loss on the stadium, which the taxpayer picks up. If someone else leases the stadium outright it's fair to assume they are picking up the running costs, thereby shifting that £20m loss off the LLDC books instantly. I wouldn't expect it take...

David Moyes Claret and Blue army was sung frequently and loudly.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Southampton: match thread

What was the atmosphere like as seemed flat on TV? Apart from a little lull in the 2nd half there was a lot of singing and at times it was very loud. Generally it was a great atmosphere. I was also guilty of being a little quiet at times in the 2nd half simply because I had shouted myself hoarse. M...

Re: Michail Antonio

My alternative view.. Antonio on top form is a massive miss. But he hasn't been on top form for ages. His presence makes him a force of course. But he's rarely been the unplayable Micky. In fact he always seems to play in third gear (probably injury related)....and it's frustrating. He's an emotion...

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd v West Ham Utd: match thread

I don't think the issue is so much about Noble being past it, and more that Rice, Soucek and Noble simply doesn't work and that would be true even if we had a 27 year old Noble right now. Soucek in particular appears to be much less effective when Noble plays because they are both competing for the ...

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham Utd: match thread

Quality comments from the Man City fans on the OV. Always had a lot of time for City fans. Until they got bought by the oil barons they were a very similar club to us. I recall the late 80s, 88 or 89 I think, last game of the season against City and as was was tradition then we all ran on the pitch ...

Re: January 2021 Transfer Window

All this talk of only signing players who can improve the squad is all well and good, but that doesn't mean signing a striker who is better than Antonio. It means signing a striker who is better than our backup, Yarmolenko. And let's be honest that's a pretty low bar, but apparently a bar that even ...

Re: Declan Rice

Every young player should look to him as a shining example of what it takes to be successful. Yes Declan has natural ability, but for me his biggest attribute is his work ethic. Getting bombed out at Chelsea could have finished him, but instead it forced him to work even harder to realise his dreams...

Re: Takeover talk

Wouldn't it just be the most West Ham thing ever for us to agree a sale and finalize it AFTER the transfer window closes 😂. I can see it now! We finish 15th after Antonio gets hurt and no replacements are brought in since it would be very West Ham for the injury to occur on 1/31 v Liverpool when Su...

Re: Takeover talk

Not too bothered about having a multi billionaire owner turning us into another Man City. What I would like to see is someone make us a more professional outfit from top to bottom. Have a real long-term strategy that's not written on the back of a fag packet. Have a recruitment strategy that isn't d...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Wolves: match thread

It's like starting a season after a couple of kick abouts, but with hugely pressured points positions. Form is reset, fitness is reset, rules are reset, no player has experienced these sorts of games under these sorts of conditions... We'll see, I think, which teams have professional outlooks, setu...
