Re: ⚽ Chelsea v West Ham United: Match thread (30/11)

Just what the doctor ordered, a great win and a clean sheet to boot. Always good to get a win at that place too. Hopefully this gives the lads a real boost.

Re: Cheating Saracens

Quins were the ones that got caught over Bloodgate. And in that scenario the player involved was banned for 9 months, the club fined, the Director of Rugby banned for 3 years and the Club Doctor and Physio struck off. Numerous clubs were doing it and a variety of figures have admitted as such. Back ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

Feels like we should have enough to win this one but for some reason I'm more wary than I was last week. 2-1 to us with squeaky bum final 5 minutes.

Re: Rugby Union World Cup.

Best bit about that pic Sendo is Wayne Barnes looks as though he's about to say "How VERY dare you?" Spencer's a very handy player and was in camp until the day they left for Japan. He'll be as up to speed as anyone. The loss of Sinckler would probably be the most difficult to replace. Not many play...

Re: Rugby Union World Cup.

Cheers Tomos. I thought Wales look strangely out of ideas this week and made far more errors than usual.

No doubt the sales if SA shirts in Edinburgh, Cardiff etc will be high this week.

Not a great game of rugby at all. SA were probably marginally better on balance. Feel a bit for AWJ.

Re: Rugby Union World Cup.

To me that rip was forward but not “enough” to be clear and obvious. Not sure the welsh can be too pleased with that performance. Also shout out to Biggar and Liam’s Williams for their non stop whinging.

Played at Parque de Floresta in Portugal last week. Lovely course, lovely weather but the wind was incredible in some places!

Re: Rugby Union World Cup.

Puff - Player welfare. it was the same last tournament. There's a reason rugby doesn't have midweek fixtures. That's why the group stage is as long as it is. The typhoon is one of the biggest they've seen, but the teams had all been told that robust contingency plans were in place. Doesn't look like...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread

I just felt we were gonna lose as soon as they got the penalty. Losing the natural left footer didn't help and thought Lanzini was quiet. The drawing angles on their pitch on VAR for their second looked utterly comical to be honest. I can't stand Palace. Living where I do, you don't hear a word from...

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes

Think Essex have a got a nice draw with Derbyshire for the semi rather than either of Worcs or Notts. Then on to the final and who knows? That Notts side is very strong in T20 though if they fire. Good to see that the championship will be won by a 'smaller' club while 2nd will also be, and 3rd too i...

Re: CL/Euro Cup games 9-17/18/19

Just seen klopps apres match chin wag, not concentrating on it more going on in the background. Was he complaining about a dubious penalty? Really? They don't like it up 'em Media darling, 'breath of fresh air' Jurgen Klopp moaning about a penalty decision? Surely not! Next thing you'll be telling ...

2-1 win against them at the BG between Christmas and New Year in the 2007/8 season at a guess? Ronaldo missed a penalty at 1-0 to them - Anton equalised and Upson scored the winner shortly afterwards.

Mike Dean is ref, grealish to get away with murder, he'll injure one of our players without punishment then dive for a penalty
Unfortunately that's how I see this one going.

The day Mike Dean retires will be a great one for football.

That Lyon was the one getting the most tap and messed up the run out was a delightful side story to the test. He's always got so much to say for himself hasn't he, rarely any of it pleasant.

Re: Anyone else envious of Wolves? (non WHU)

Not really. They had a huge amount of luck with injuries last year and their squad will be tested to the max this year with the Thursday/Sunday turnarounds and trips to various parts of nowheresville.

They also come from Wooowwwlverrraammmpton.

Re: The Golf Thread

Depends on the hole. On the longer holes driver, on the shorter holes a 5 wood or hybrid. I started off hitting the drives well regardless of club and then after a few holes it started to go pear shaped. Get very self conscious on the tee and I'm trying to get over that as it doesn't help.

Re: The Golf Thread

Played at Langley Park this weekend and went round in 112 after a 105 round at Darenth Valley the week before. Going in the right direction but still duffing too many tee shots!
