Re: Straightforward answers to straightforward questions thread

I would. It's an increase but significantly less than the original absolute number. Marginal. The cost to te LLDC of increasing capacity in this manner would be absolutely tiny, and with those seats yielding far less than the average, West Ham would rightly argue their marginal revenue from their us...

Re: Straightforward answers to straightforward questions thread

There will next summer I am sure be a supplementary planning application to take capacity to 70k in athletics mode for the World Championships. That'll leave just short of 67k available for football, which again I believe will be part of the application. A variation of lease would then be required a...

Re: The Olympic Park & Sport in General

That was on land held by Westfield, currently mothballed in the south east corner of their site.

To be frank I think they've had second thoughts and will just expand the shopping centre, given how hugely successful its been.

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

I believe that a fair chunk of the club is still held by the Icelandic asset manager Straumur? If there were a serious party wishing to take over the club I reckon they'd start with that 35%, buy the other minor shareholders other 5% out and then aim to get an option on the shares of Gold and Sulliv...

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

Of course it'll be a fraction of the TV money (which at the time remember was itself a fraction of what the TV money is now), and a very small fraction of the financial leg-up the deal will bring for the club.

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

Apparently the plan is to distribute to 'community leaders', whatever they are, and they will give them to 'deserving' people. Sounds eminently exploitable.

Re: West Ham ordered to reveal details of Olympic Stadium deal i

Levy said to the TH Supporters Trust that they had until March 2017 to make a decision, so that may be enough time for the LLDC to determine whether the pitch can take the stress.

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

Must say it makes me slightly envious of Newham residents. Other Host Boroughs (LBTH, LBWF, LBH, LBG, LBB&D) just get a promise that Concessionaires will do 'community events' in them at some undefined point.

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

Yeah, and how about the gripe about Newham getting a gross interest rate on investment of 6% (which given they tapped the Treasury at what must have been something like 2% maximum, leaves them with a RoI of at least £1.6 million p.a. on the £40 million invested) plus they get a minimum of £250,000 f...

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

It'll be a hell of a lot more predictable once the stadium sponsor is announced, which should be after the Rugby World Cup is over.

Re: Brady admits we will pay more for higher than tenth finish

If there were outrage from taxpayers I'm sure that petition wouldnt be stuck at 25,000, and even to get there they had to get the BBC to do a totally biased documentary on it.

Ha! I'd love to see how a discussion plays out between a CAST interloper and Pinky. Both miserable about the deal but for totally opposing reasons.

Re: The mysterious case of the disappearing seats...

In short, how do the blanked off sections you can see in the first diagram equate to 24% of the entire lower tier? (6000/25000 = 24%).

And where have 10,000 seats in the upper tier disappeared to? Because it doesnt look like 10,000 seats have simply vanished.

The mysterious case of the disappearing seats...

As you may know, I've followed this closely for some time, yet still some questions for me linger concerning the capacity of the stadium. As designed originally, the lower tier held 25,000 seats, and the upper tier 55,000, making an overall capacity of 80,000. The current plan is to have a capacity ...

Re: France v Romania, Wednesday

Not being from the area I may be barking up the wrong tree, but how long would it take to walk along the Greenway from West Ham tube? Is it feasible? 25/30 minutes. Depends on access to the Greenway via the Park; currently its shut due to Crossrail work going on. At the moment you have to walk down...

Re: outside the stadium on match days

Nope, none of that. Vinci/ LLDC will want as much money to go to the catering company inside the stadium. The rib man was looking at a plot in the Here East buildings (the old broadcast centre north of the stadium). There'll be some places there and some places in the International Quarter theyre bu...
