Hope for Jarrod's sake that Mainoo is able to make passes to the right wing, unlike Stones.

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......

Here's one. I've always been a night person rather than a morning person. In that I'll happily stay up late but don't like getting up early (even though I'm up before 6 for work every day). So much so that I'm not someone who can often go to bed early purely because I've decided I need an early nig...

Re: The next 6 games...

Think a lot depends on Antonio's state when he returns from his international exertions. He's been key to our forward play in the last couple of fixtures. Cross-Atlantic flights take a toll on players, as do the internationals themselves. Alvarez has been at his poorest this season when returning fr...

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

Freiburg's manager, Christian Streich, has announced he's retiring from his job at the end of the season.
He's managed the first team since 2012, and was a youth trainer there for 17 years prior to that.
A very good bloke by all accounts.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Gillett is not fit for purpose as a premier league ref. Like so many others. Bowen made a great run through the middle in the first half, only to be given a clear and obvious shove in the back to knock him over, and Gillett waved play on. Plenty of other pushes on our players ignored as well, as if ...

Even if it did, anywhere else on the pitch, that is given as handball without hesitation.

Looking at the replay, however, it looks like to came off his right hand, then on to his left hand, then on to his head.

Re: January transfer window

Pretty harsh to claim Soucek, Benrahma, Fornals and Coufal have got worse because of Moyes when arguably the best seasons of their entire careers have been under him (when we finished 6th/7th they were all brilliant.) Then there's Bowen, Antonio, Rice (who was dropped by Bilic and reinstated by Moy...

Berlin 1933

A few years back, I posted on here to draw attention to a 3-part series on the BBC iplayer of a film I edited about Berlin in the year 1945. A number of posters watched it. I'd like now to draw attention to our subsequent project, Berlin 1933, Diary of a Metropolis, which is also now showing on the ...

Nice list, conters. That Mitski album is just tremendous, in my opinion.
First came across her in 2016 in a music store in LA, where I bought Puberty 2 because I liked the look of the cover.
Still my favourite album of hers, but the new one's coming close. As you say, it's a grower.

A great example of skewing stats to fit your narrative. 0 league goals, but scored 5 in 6 in the CL.

Re: Ref the Ref - Post match analysis

Guimarães yesterday was the most nailed on second yellow i've seen. But the one that gripes is the Almiron one waving a yellow - I dont know if the ref saw it, if he did then theres no excuse that only a short while before he booked Emerson for the same thing and as such stinks. Newcastle supportin...

June 2022, not this year.
Pretty sure he came on as a sub in the U18s' cup final last season, certainly featured a bunch of times for them from the bench and is a starter this season since the likes of Earthy and Marshall have moved up to the U21s

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v TSC Backa Topola: match thread

I'd be surprised if Antonio, Bowen or Paq start. I'd guess the forward line might be Kudos, Ings (sub Mbama) & Benny or Cornet with JWP as the playmaker. As for subs, I think Earthy, Chesters and Scarles could make the bench. The U21s are doing extremely well with the intake from last year's U1...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

McTominay is an experienced quality PL player. Same way as Ward-Prowse is. I would expect those players to find a balance in midfield alongside Lucas Paqueta. They are also players - like Gallagher - who Moyes can expect to hit the ground running. Having seen how long it took for unquestionably tal...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

Do we know he's pushing out of Everton and they're not the ones pushing as they're desperate for money? He pushed to get out of Hamburg quick, he pushed to get out of Lille quick, it's more than likely he'll not be keen to stay at Everton long. Always seems to me to be a player who has a higher opi...

❎ Player of the Year Will probably go to either Dec or Bowen. I went for Benrahma, who I've found frustrating time and time again, but this season he was there when it counted in all the decisive moments. ❎ Young Player of the Year Plenty of choice here. My favourite young player whenever I've watch...
