Fornals is actually a fairly prolific tackler.

Especially in the opposition third, I think he could easily adapt his game to tackle more in the middle third.
indeed. I was surprised that we went with Lanzini deeper and Fornals in 10 role v Norwich. Maybe swap them over...

Which is promising considering we rated Johnson and Ashby higher.

It's a shame all three came through together, could've done with one of them coming through 10 years ago.
or makes you worry the analytical approach is flawed.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Nothing to do with money, but if you know a car is worth £1,000 why would you pay £5k for it in January when you can get it for £1k 6 months later. Only reason is if you are desperate .. (Newcastle) - who would pay £25m for Wood !! Stretching that analogy, because the car allows you to get to that ...

They play each other last day of the season. It would be incredible if Carroll scored the goal that relegated Newcastle.
Not going to happen, Andy's most half-asrsed performances came agisnt the toon. Heart just wasn't in it.

Not sure any of our youngsters should be going out on loan to Derby, who are an absolute shambles.
well, don't they have something like 14 points from, the last 5 games?

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Exactly. How many teams play with a traditional number 9 these days? Man City have Gabriel Jesus in that role. Liverpool are currently playing Jota there. Chelsea signed Lukaku but have mostly been playing Werner or Havertz there. Spurs have Kane who is probably the closest thing to an old fashione...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Norwich City: rescheduled match thread

I'd like to see something like that. I don't think Moyes will go for it, he's far too cautious, but something along the lines of: ------------------------ Fabiankski ---------------------- Fredericks ------ Dawson ----- Diop ------ Johnson --------------------------- Rice --------------------------...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Norwich City: rescheduled match thread

We've not played any of the bottom teams at home yet. The other issue is Moyes sets us up in a low/mid block system where we don't really start to press the opposition until they get into our half, which sets us for a counter attack. This is less effective against teams who do not come to attack aw...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Norwich City: rescheduled match thread

Yes Fab will come back in for Areola. Coufal I think will be unavailable due to Covid so it'll be Fredericks again. Fornals might even come in for Vlasic, hard to tell with Moyes. I think could be a case for resting Soucek - who has looked below his best. I think we could try out Fornals there. wou...

Re: Declan Rice

Despite his best efforts I think Harry Kane may well join this very short list of lifers. He has made more attempts to leave than Papillon and like Andy Difresne he will have to crawl through 500 yards of sewage before reaching the outer parameter of WHL. To be fair, that's just the normal entrance...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

If a Man City, a Man Utd, or a Liverpool had come in for him, he would've gone and they would've been unable to keep him but they didn't and that is my point On that basis we would never sign anyone. If he isnt good enough that Man CIty etc buy him, then we cant. And of course if they do sign him w...
