Re: Best Ruby Murray?

I thoroughly recommend this book by Dan Tombs https://www.amazon.co.uk/Curry-Guy-Recreate-British-Restaurant/dp/1849499411 Seconded. The wife got this a short while ago and now we are stocked up on the base. Cost a fortune to get all of the spices requires, but the results match any Indian restaura...

Re: Formula1 2019

I think Lewis does have issues with confidence, but I also think there is also a measure of kidology. He knew the others were coming out on newer tyres and his messages encouraged them to push straight away and remove as much life as possible from them. It was only a few races ago that he was ale to...

Re: The lies that tarnished West Ham's good name

Didn't Tevez have the same contract at Man U, but the rules were changed so it was no longer a contravention of them? Also, surely the preventing of a loan player from playing against their parent club is entirely a different thing from a transferred player playing against their former club. I may h...

Re: Rugby Union World Cup.

Well if anyone accuses us of boring rugby they will probably be right. I have a horrible feeling that Farrell will kick to much possession to the Aussies backs and they will punish us. I would rather see us play with creative and elusive players than a load of lumps at 10, 12 & 13. The wingers look ...

I can't see how the same biomass of farm animals now, as wild ruminants foaming the plains of America and Savannahs of Africa 250-300 years ago can be the cause of global worming either. Have farts evolved to have a higher methane content? :thdn:

Re: Illegally parked cars app

I can't wait. I will get at least 3 cars on yellow lines on the way to work each day. :) Probably a couple more while running in the mornings too. Parking on pavements can be done round my way and still leave room for prams and wheelchairs (although not everyone seems able to do this). It does help ...

Re: Formula1 2019

Just caught up with it all. Can somebody explain why Kimi got a penalty in the last race for the exact same thing that happened with Vettel today? Can somebody explain why Leclerc was not warned and ordered to pit despite bits flying off his car? Lewis is lucky nothing hit him in the head and only ...

I always thought the punchline was more something along the lines of “no, you were right the first time”
I believe the actual answer was "no your right it's a doughnut" (not an apple pie).

I was in the same bakery 40 years ago and the Scotsman in question was the Big Yin himself. :D

Looks like the owners are going to be true to form and not support the manger in year 3 so they can get rid without a pay-off (reading between the lines)

Re: Formula1 2019

With regards to the Honda power unit, I think they are pretty much up with the Mercedes engine for peak power in race trim. Having seen the cars up close now I think their issue may be in the lower rev ranges. Not only does the Honda sound like a bag of spanners the Red Bulls don't quite seem to pul...

Coleman wins Men's 100m (yes he of the three missed drug tests) Followed by the drug user's drug user Justin Gatlin. Just a joke. It was WADA that told American athletics to drop the case though, as it was them that made the mistake or not followed the correct procedure. To be fair to Coleman he do...

Re: It's not just Man Utd fans....

I work with a couple (father and son) and they are perfectly OK, and not deluded at all. They are quite open about the weaknesses of the team and how crap the football has been for quite a while. In fact they seem a bit like us in their outlook, and thinking about others I have known in the past the...

Re: Bird advice .... the feathery kind!!

Dave, we also have a decent swift population a bit further east in Wiltshire, but we haven’t had any definite swallow sightings from our back garden. We do have a cheeky blue tit that roosts in one of the bat boxes I have put up. It spent last winter using it and started checking it out again a coup...

Re: Formula1 2019

God what a tedious race..........and I had to endure it from the turn 2 grandstand. Loads of people go here every year, but have never been to Silverstone. One is a pop concert with some badly organised racing as a sideshow, whereas the other is a spectacle of racing for the true fan and covers mult...

Fellow West Ham fan David Croft on the flight back from Singapore. We tried to find some Manchester fans to wind up but they kept their heads down. Much funnier in real life than when he commentates on the F1 for sky. Also on the flight were Johnnie Herbert, Rachael Brooks, Ant Davidson, and the key...

Re: Antonio could be sidelined for "three to four months"

It is widely reported that he even went behind Slaven's back to Sullivan regarding the issue. He put himself ahead of the team and plenty of others have been castigated for this. I think he would have made a more effective as a wingback than a winger. Stats have been posted on this site that support...
