Re: West Ham United v Everton: Match Thread

I felt we were quite harshly dealt with in the lead up to their goal. Their corner was as a result of seizing possession back from us due to a dubious ref decision where in fact i felt we should have been awarded a corner of our own. Instead the ref blew for a foul on a defender after an innocuous a...

Wasn’t Pellegrini making some quite basic tactical and management errors ?

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

I can't tell if you're on a wind up now or have just dug yourself a hole and decided to keep digging out of sheer bloody mindedness. But 2nd to 4th is mediocrity in your world? In that case we have only achieved 'mediocrity' once in our entire existence - and for those that remember it that season ...

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

They have also had big European matches against the best clubs in Europe, that semi final vs Ajax, a champions league final and the excitement of a league title push I would take that! That’s great, but we and all the other prem sides usually get to play 4 last sixteen champions league teams at lea...

Are you for real?

Totally, I’ve never been one for celebrating the mediocrity of finishing 2nd to 4th just to be in the Champs league. Last years european cup final ended with 3rd place beating 4th place or was it 4th place beating 3rd ?

We're certainly not.

What do we have by comparison?
Exactly the same as Spurs

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

Honestly I’m not interested in what spurs are or aren’t achieving. What i do know is that it is a great source of fun for many clubs fans to see them blow up just before the chequered flag and not win anything.
That’s what really matters to fans.

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

Perhaps. But how much would Harry Kane, Harry Winks, or any of their other players, likely also to be called Harry, be worth if sold? A damn site more than the cost of the training ground I expect. Hell, they could afford to buy West Ham if they sold them. But we’re talking progress not financial r...

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

There are so many ways to look at this. By using Spurs investment in their ground and training facilities as a yardstick, thats pretty much the best in the country. But as yet that training ground has not gleaned anymore silverware in the near 8 years it has been open for them to use. So you could e...

Option to buy 55 million West Ham option 33 million sunk by yet another Sully lowball bid Headbanger
I believe the 33 mill was the agreed arrangement until spurs come in with a silly offer. So it wasn’t lowball when agreed.

Re: Taxi for Karren ? Is one due ?

I get that she may be a reasonably safe pair of hands in business, but has there ever been the clamour for her football administrative services from a top club ? I remember people like Kenyon moving between Chelsea & Utd. There has been a real dynamic administrative post up for grabs at the helm of ...

Re: [POLL] Are YOU happy at the Olympic/London Stadium?

Does anyone know whether they are going to try and square off the stands behinds the goals like in the images the club sent out ? Along with a consistent transfer policy under a consistent and well backed manager are the type of things that will keep things on the straight and narrow. Aside from tho...

Re: The McDonald's of football

The corporate world of modern football. No doubt set up so that they can try and get the best talent from these upcoming leagues, and any promising ones get sent over to Manchester. The reality is we need to do the same to merely keep up. Or we could just get our own house in order and concentrate ...

Re: The McDonald's of football

How depressingly corporate and clinical.
I don’t envy very much about the mapped out and ordered world that kids are brought up in now.
It’s a stretch, but at least we here at West Ham are offering the world the highlight of a dis-functionality.

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

Apparently the Van dijk one wasn't disallowed because: According to Sky Sports, VAR checked the replay and claimed the ‘evidence is inconclusive’. But according to beIN Sports, the match referee Anthony Taylor told Wolves’ technical staff that Van Dijk’s handball was ‘too far back in the move’ to b...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

David Moyes needs to go. Should have never been appointed. The geezer is a tactical dinosaur that still thinks it’s the 1970s, the entire game plan consists of playing long balls constantly to an isolated striker, completely bypassing any midfield play. He needs to go! No innovation, no ideas, no p...

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

Jeez !!! How much did we have to endure to lose by just one goal. We’d done the hard bit and snuffed out home advantage after about 20 minutes. Following that we looked comfortable and on the up in the remaining 25 mins of the 1st half. Start the 2nd half off and no real advantage either way. Then t...
