Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

I think we’re all unanimous in wanting us to sign players who will take us to ‘the next level’. Having finished ‘best of the rest’ the last two seasons, that next level means that we’re trying to fish in the same pool as the Sky Six (now 7) who have vastly bigger resources and vastly more appeal th...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

Which goes back to the problem at hand, telling the genuine from the chancers. the more chancers we get rocking up then the harder it is to deal with the genuine....... 74% of cross channel migrants are male. And a large amount if those are fit young adult males. I’d like to see the equivalent brea...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

It's really not that black and white. At all. We can't let everyone in but we need to let some in. It's called humanity. We don't have to let everyone in but not letting genuine cases in and providing overly complicated legal routes in is disgusting. Correct, so how do you even try and enforce this...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

My mistake, I thought a court blocked it yesterday. We can get into semantics but I'd say "illegal" covers it for an informal chat like this. So work harder and come to an agreement with France. Or get back into the Dublin Agreement so that people can be sent back to Europe (and actually ...

Maybe we should stop judging those who are going through things we will never understand as we are lucky we were born over here.

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

When the government/refugee orgs talk about safe and legal routes they are talking about things like the process set up for Ukrainians over the last few months. There is a severe lack of these for people from most countries hence them taking desperate options. We're spending £12m per year + an addi...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

I love how we judge which people (who are desperate for help) are worthy of coming to this country by if they can fill in the correct form What a really depressing world we live in Aside from the UN there are millions of volunteers in charity humanity services like the British Res Cross who have re...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

They welcome Ukrainians fleeing war, They refuse Syrians fleeing war.....The double standards is staggering I bet the Ukranians have at least some form of identification to prove their refugee status. It’s also entirely true that no Ukranian is trying to gain entry into the country on a Dinghy and ...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

If the government care so much about people using what they keep referring to as "legal routes" then make it easier to access them. There is a perfectly safe and legal ferry crossing service running right next to these herberts in Calais. The migrants using dinghy crossings pay far more f...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

Or not. Indeed ! How weak of us. Yesterday Meanwhile, 270 more people, desperately needing asylum, arrived illegally in kent via dinghy travel, will be allowed to use the legal aid system provided by tax payer funding, whilst being put up in accommodation indefinitely also funded by the tax payer. ...

Re: England cricket 2022

I really didn’t think that I’d be witnessing an England Test match that goes high up in the record books for total overall runs scored, so soon after it felt like scoring anything around 300 or above seemed an impossibility.

Contrary to earlier posts, the fact that this flight has been maintained with illegal migrants being taken to Rwanda as planned, marks a big moment for this policy and an initial victory for it going forward.

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

The point is, if you live in a capitalist country and housing ownership is a big thing, you of course hold the right to join in and own to invest or rent. House building is the answer, and at a staggering rate that alleviates the growing demand for accommodation. All the time that demand is there, t...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

My biggest concern with renting for life would be the big wedge of pension that goes towards it. Too many worries for me, but can appreciate why others prefer renting. If the opportunity arises for people, the smart money is ownership via a mortgage. 20 - 30 years of investment that even in the rar...

Re: Russian invasion of Ukraine

As far as the UK or the west is concerned enough is when Russia has exhausted its ability to continue to invade and occupy parts of Ukraine. Enough is when Russia is wasting resources and not getting very far with its objectives. Enough is when Putin has to commit to pulling out as no real victory c...
